First winter bicycle ride in the Bay area input on all my warm layers I'd use for such rides in Colorado and promptly overheated while everyone else on the ride was freezing. I have since adjusted and can't imagine going out for a ride with snow on the ground like I did in my youth.

Dennis, if your wife continues to complain about the switches, change to electronic switches. I have 3 way switches in my hall. Three of them. There is no up or down. If the lights are off, I simply push on any one and the lights turn on. Turn the lights off, same thing. And all the switches look the same. No getting hung up on what position the switch is in.
Also, all the switches I have in my home are dimmer switches. Turn the lights on half way. Turn them off with a single push. To turn them on again, a single push on any switch returns the lights to their previous level of brightness. Or, a quick double push on any switch turns the lights on full bright.
