PSA - if ordering from online stores do not let them ship it via OnTrac

Order tons of stuff through Amazon Prime and sometimes it goes through OnTrac. Zero issues so far and the packages going through OnTrac are usually a day early vs UPS or FedEx, at least through Amazon.

I recently ordered some Mich Pilot Road 3 from the above website who chose to ship it via a company called "OnTrac" having never heard of them before I google searched them and suddenly had a sick feeling in my stomach when I saw their 1.5/5 stars google rating. In different places on the web they had numerous (20+) reviews consisting of drivers stealing the package, the items trackIng showing delivered but it never was and never ended up coming, delivery to wrong addresses, items thrown over gates, fences, left on the driveway or anywhere in the front yard or property, horrible customer service when calling to report problems or missing packages and being told tough ouch and to contact the store to have them reshop.the list goes on. If any store you purchase from uses this shipping company I would highly reccomend that you call and ask them to ship using a different shipper, given the chance I would and I would even be willing to pay extra for peace of mind knowing that my package was shipped with a reputable company.

Companies which are known to use this shipper, to my knowledge, feel free to add on:
Amazon (uses for free super saver shipping)
Motorcycle-superstore

You are welcome to pay more for the same product/service anytime you like, but what's the point of making a list of large and reputable online retailers who are more than willing to work with you on shipping issues if they arise? Are you saying we should boycott Amazon because of OnTrac?

Adding more sodium bicarbonate to the fire:

The only thing OnTrac has done wrong by me is deliver packaged ahead of their scheduled date. My experiences with them thus far have done nothing but embarrass the rest of the shipping industry. I'd rather have a package shipped by them than any other carrier delivering to California.

Never had a problem with ontrac.. the driver is really nice, always on time. I get them when using amazon prime.

It seems OnTrac results vary greatly based on the delivery guy in your local area.

Yesterday morning was the first time I ever noticed an OnTrac van. Stuffed to the gills with packages. Maybe I've seen them before, but I just didn't know who they were?:dunno

There just a regional carrier and have been around for awhile as California overnight they deliver to CA OR WA AZ NV UT and they just added Colorado.

So, did the OP get his tires thrown over the fence like a Frisbee, or were the tires delivered normally without any drama or damage? Are you still boycotting all stores that use OnTrac?

Tires delivered no drama. I was scared though. The delivery notification Said delivered at first but no tires! They showed up shortly after. I was never boycotting just informing

I have been ordering through Rocky Mountain, the problem I have had with ontrac is them not leaving the packages at my house unless I am home. This becomes a problem since I have to work. I have started to send my deliveries to my parents house. When calling ontrac to correct the issue my calls were not returned. I have called rocky mountain and told them to please send my packages with another company. I also do not like that on trac shows up in un marked vehicles that look like shit

I've had problems with On-Trac also. Their drivers won't use the call box at the entrance to the building. I had a 3 way issue with Amazon and On-Trac. Amazon had me go test the call box outside the building because the On-Trac driver said it wasn't working. It was working. The driver left the package outside a security gate at a condo building in a high crime area. Of course it wasn't there when I went to check.

Then there were the tires that I had to drive to Benicia to get. I made both companies aware that I would no longer order from them if they continued using On-Trac.

Yup, OnTrac, the very worst! I don't really blame their drivers, but rather feel bad for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even get reimbursed for the vehicle expenses. They obviously don't belong to a union.

Anyway, Revzilla uses them for shipments to California originating from their warehouse in Las Vegas. I had to ask them to use any other company when they ship to me. They put in my account to use UPS, which is often late BTW, but at least it gets to my residence!

My only experience with Ontrac was a "lost" package and Amazon shipped the item again using UPS or Fedex.

Same with ontrac. Every time I had an issue with them I yelped the shit out of them. A complain on Yelp get you a quick answer from a manager.

I've had more things than I can count delivered from Amazon via OnTrac. Never any problems.

down here, none of my amazon prime shipments have been ontrac, it tends to be either straight USPS if i ship to the house, or the fedex/ups smartpost/surepost where they ship to the post office and the PO delivers (if i use my po box).

the one shipment i got from ontrac was from office max...2 toner cartridges. they came in their own boxes (no shipping box), strapped together with a label stuck on. i watched the driver sling it to the porch from halfway up the walk, and heard it bounce off the front door and roll back down the steps as he booked it back to the truck.
