RANT: kids (parents) these days

This. This is the issue. Occasionally a kid in my class will say "chill out bro" and it's an immediate talk outside. Later, I meet their parents. Oh, I see what happened.

Today, I went to the restorative justice lead about a kid (17 3/4) stealing candy right in front of my aide because I had a group outside. She waited until they left to tell me. The lead said same kid went straight from my class to ask her "can you get me a free homecoming ticket", his first and only words to her. Now every adult, his football coach, the campus supervisors, and parents via email know these things happened and he's done. He was the only student to argue that I was mistaken in saying "influencer is neither a solid job goal nor a likely path to financial security" after illustrating my point with actual influencers in our school. One has 200K followers and said "I'm kinda over it" while being swamped with products and unwanted attention. The other ranted about the "wrong" thing and lost half his 100K followers. Then changed schools.

The young are unafraid because nobody was allowed to put fear into them, yet they are "anxious" because they have responsibilities. They are "traumatized" by multiple class assignments and are seriously agitating for wealth redistribution, unless they are well off, then they are agitating for a purge of the poor by any and all means. They are us. :cry:
