Really Salinas?

What'd you do to piss them off?

Wasn't me, was a family member though. And the answer is not much, really, and he did win in the end*.

* In their haste to create a zoning monster they could use against anyone, the city council neglected to audit their own properties for compliance with all the new ordinances. I think he made it to 103 complaints against properties held by members of the council before they started leaving him alone.

So they handled it the correct, legal, dare I say "sane" way?

Yeah, but there's a long story here I'm not going to tell you now that includes 40 years of periodic legal harassment on the part of the city targeted at an individual. That was just the last round, where they decided to go about it in such a dumb way that he beat them up pretty badly (sent them back a bunch of i interrogatories asking very pointed questions about the history of the drafting of this ordinance, and some of the financial relationships between the councilcritters involved.)

He's way too nice, popular, and generally all around well adjusted to do that.. but if you torment someone for a very long period of time, I can see how you could push someone closer to the border over the edge.

Basically, city governments are not a toy and should not be weaponized by petty individuals. This doesn't mean it's correct to whip out a D8 on them, but I can see how it happens.

Wait Marlowe, Chop Keenan is a family member? We know him here…

Small world. And +1 on what cities do. John, to get anything done these days, developers are required to pay literal "blood money", donate lands, etc. It's pretty shitty and highway robbery, but the price to do business in the building industry.

Haha! Get this: City of Lafayette…water meter: $35K. Drawings: $40K…that's $75K before any permits and one stick is in the ground. Who wants to build their "Dream home"? More like NIGHTMARE HOME!

No, that was a local example for BARF's benefit...the family member in question lives in the upper plains states.

I just point it out because if you or I regraded our property, without engineering work, and diverted a bunch of water onto an adjoiners, we'd be in deep shit.

HMB seems to think it was their right. :laughing

Dont make shit up. Morthrane told me operators were those women who work the telephone switchboards.
No no, you're thinking of the old defintion of operator. Much like the difference between a 'computer' pre-ww2 and one today.

Modern operators play xbox and call everyone a faggot. :twofinger

I said I've never seen an American police department deploy machine guns so there's no use for the mounts in the turret of the MaxxForce model that Salinas has nor is that turret ideal for a sniper to use without heavy modifications. The worse things about turrets, from my perspective, is the availability of an entry point for grenades.

Oh, and they're 14-years-old too, right?

imo, while most believe this is over reaction and over spending, believe them popo , or at least those in the know , are gonna see some interesting things in the coming years...

you heard it here first, bishes..

After the display of police hardware in the Boston Marathon bombing, this one isn't a surprise. A pity there's money/budget for guns, but barely 2 pennies to scratch together for books and vaccines. The new America.

They're going to use it on whom?

Grammar delinquents...

It's bad English to end a sentence with "whom". Try "Who's the target of it?" (Subject, verb, ...) :twofinger

Must be worth it because there sure seems be an awful lot of people willing to do it if you aren't. :dunno

Go research how much handgun ammo the federal government has acquired in the last three years...:afm199

Are you making a case that the DoD, the DoJ and the Treasury Dept spent less in handgun amno then the Dept of Education spent in books? Evidently not enough in books, given the state of education of the country.

That is just sad. When a vehicle with complete design failure gets the go ahead, you really understand how corrupt the procurement process is within the military industrial complex.

Sadly this is not just a problem with the US military.
