Red Dead Redemption

Keep your left trigger held down. Then walk over to your target, which should be on the ground (unless its a horse you're trying to break) and a button will pop up to hogtie the target.

If you just want to drag them through town, I think you just need to keep the trigger held down and ride. I think that might eventually kill them though.

:thumbup

I get a little spazzy sometimes with a controller in my hand.....I'll see if I can keep my cool and pull it off. thanks. This game is a great time-waster....and I say that in the best way possible. :teeth

so for those who've played this extensively, is it worth buying?

already have episodes on the way

I liked the Single Player, but it got repetitive at the end. I've nearly beaten it in 2 days. The online multi-player is fun with a group of ppl. I can see myself getting bored with it after a month tho. My :2cents

Damn it I'm almost at the end of the game, and I seem to be missing the California stranger. Don't know if he died or what, but without him I can't get 100% completion because one of the outfits won't unlock...

Yes. I still haven't touched the multiplayer, but the singleplayer experience is one of the best ways I've spent $60 in a good long while.

Alan, did you start the California stranger mission? You can find him at the "1" on this map:

It's bad when you just start blasting people in single player. That get's the sheriff all pissed off.

Huh, OK, that's a little further north than where I was searching for him. I read that he was over in the Scratching Post by the river so that's where I've been looking.

Still though, I would think that a question mark would pop up on the map when I'm in the area and I haven't yet seen one.

Thanks Tyler.

I'm almost on the 5th prestige for Multi-player. Think I'm like level 30 in the 4th prestige. I want the Zebra Donkey for sure!

Soon as I max out the multi-player, I'll play the SP mode.

Not so bad... Twin Rocks on a maxed out Public session will yield 2000 - 4000 XP at a little over a minute. Usually right around 1:05 - 1:20.

I just hope Rockstar resets all the hackers' accounts. These guys are max level with gold weapons.

Whaaaaat? A zebra donkey? Prestige levels? Jesus. I just want to get enough XP to ride the damn bull. I tried to get on one in MP and apparently the guy who called it got offended that I tried to take it and pulled me off. So how long do I have to play to get my own?

Kill him and take his.

LOL, I was headed to Ft Mercer last night when I see Drizz show up on my screen. I was just saying "hey dude, what's...!" when a fucking cougar comes out from a bush and just drills Drizz from behind. Then the cougar kills my horse and I barely had enough time to get my shotgun out to blast it. I was laughing so hard.

I just got 100% in SP, so I'm messing around in MP now. Gang matches are actually pretty fun in this game, the bag games are a hoot. 8v8 in Tesoro Azul is a madhouse.

What's the secret to XP grinding? I can clean out Ft Mercer by myself but it takes a while and I only get 1300 XP or so. I'm only Level 22 so far.

Oh to hell with that, I'm already bored with it as is. I can't possibly clean that place out 1000 times. :laughing

I usually run a loop around the 5 hideouts, or jump to Mexico if other people are crashing in.

I maxed out the multi-player level last week, and got the Zebra Donkey. It's fast as fuck.

Twin Rocks is the best place to grind XP. I also did Fort Mercer a bunch of times, but Twin Rocks yields way more XP per minute.

Get the Evans Repeater and the Bolt Action Rifle from the Tumble Weed hideout, then head over to Twin Rocks.

On a full public session, I was pulling anywhere from 2-4k XP, with an average of 1 min 15 seconds, solo.

Thanks Uriah!

Do you get more XP with a full session? I actually avoid the full sessions because inevitably somebody will jump in and start stealing my kills. I usually jump around servers until I can find one with just 4 or so people in it.
