Red Dead Redemption

I'm tempted to pick up this game, though I'm still having way to much fun running around the Capitol Waste acting like a douchecanoe. . .
 
any one read about the rockstar challenge in the new letter thing. If you find and kill one of the rock star employees in MP you are entered in their contest to have a likeness of you made as a playable skin in the first downloadable content to come out.
 
Made it to level 16 online in a couple hours and didnt bother with single player. Have two friends that are level 46 and 43 already show me the ropes. Game is pretty fun, looks like alot of grinding to do. Just like GTA but western style like someone mentioned.
 
Yeah, it's not hard to level up at all. I mean, there's only so much you can do.

I'm thinking they'll fix the Free Roam a bit. Giving those players who play the actual matches a bit more XP, and those that do the Gang Shoot-outs less XP. As is, it's way too unbalanced. At least IMO.

With that said, I'm gonna' grind away - hoping that the won't change it.

We were doing twin peaks I think, and it was 500-600xp with 5 man posse every 1:20. It got boring after about 45 minutes, I dont know how they do it.

We tried mercer today but could not get below 1:35-1:40ish with 4 man posse and it was too inconsistant. I forgot the name but the place with the barn and the basement is the best for us so far. We were able to get it in 1:10-1:20ish with minimum 1k ea. 4 man posse today. Made it to lvl 28 and two of my friends already on legendary. It was fun riding the bulls n stuff and the buffolo rifle is pretty good but slow.

If your buddies are gonna do legendary and keep grinding make sure to kill them while the have the rifle equipped so you can pick it up and use it. You can do the same til the whole posse has it equipped.

The game needs more things to do thats for sure.

Hah, got to play some MP last night. Entered Free Roam mode, and spawn in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a donkey for transportation, and a few seconds after that some jackass in a horse comes charging at me blasting away. Took all 6 rounds from my Cattleman Revolver to put him down... and surprise, it was a Rockstar guy, bagged that achievement quick!

Roamed around for a bit, cleared out a gang hideout (hard to do when you only have a revolver), and then Shades4Hire invited me into his posse of 5. We were just leveling up and clearing out gang hideouts. Plays like a 6 player COD co-op, only Wild West style. So much fun!

Took a couple of crappy pics with my iPhone.

This guy (another XBL player) had the unfortunate happenstance of clearing out a gang hideout right before our posse got there (after traveling halfway across the world). With nothing left to kill, we ended up taking out our frustration on the poor bastard. We quickly surrounded him, and invited him to join our posse, or else. He never responded so we had to shank the bastard. :laughing

Then we found a stagecoach. Four us piled in while the others remained on horseback. With one guy driving that left 3 of us with nothing to do but shoot up the countryside. Hilarious, especially when your driver can't steer the horses for shit, almost pitching us off a cliff at one point.

Good times! Went from Level 1 to Level 7 in half an hour.
 
Online is laughs. I am that asshole that just starts shooting people and everything he sees. If they are doing a quest I WILL go out of my way to piss em off and ruin their moment.

The posse vs posse stuff is a blast with friends.
 
im only 9 hours into the single player. side quests n saving people..

imma get the buffalo soon in mp. ill stop after that, im losing my mind at fort mercer leveling up..screw the zonky...
