words........Let's say you took a toke or had one beer like two hours ago. Then you go on a casual cruise home and some idiot runs a red light and knocks you off your ride. Now you are on the way to the hospital in an ambulance. Next thing you know they are taking blood and the CHP is ordering tests. Two years later, when you option to sue expires, your insurance company still refuses to pay and his lack of insurance leaves you without a ride and deep in debt. At that point in time you may thank your lucky stars you are still alive and take it all with a grain of salt, or you may wish you had never put yourself in the position....more words

two hours ago?

dude, why the fuck are you even posting in this thread? you are obviously ignorant about this subject, why doncha do yourself a favor and stick to the threads on why gear should be mandatory for special-needs adults.

Your sentiment is commendable, but 1 beer + 2 hours + CHP response time + time to prepare blood test = if your body still has alcohol in it, you need to visit the doctor cause somethin' (your liver) is broken. Well, that or maybe you're a 65lb fashion model.

i'd still hit it
Not after being stranded on a desert island for a year with nothing to eat but raw oysters.

If she was on the boat that rescued me and said, "Oh, you poor man! Is there anything I can do for you?" all I'd want is the MotoGP standings.

Strung out mentally damaged girls do something extra special for me. If she was sober and straight edged i wouldn't touch her with your dick

As Professor Harold Hill said in The Music Man: "I cheer, and I rave / For the virtue I'm too late to save. / The sadder but wiser girl for me." :party

Yes, but we've evolved so the body naturally chooses the right times and can change and counter the dosage on spot. Adrenaline is pumped at the exact amount so your body uses that tiny bit quickly, and the effect only lasts a minute or less. By getting high you're bypassing those precise natural chemical controls and doing something incredibly dangerous (which no matter what motorcycle you ride is dangerous) and can lead to an accident. Smart people get high and drunk in safe environments, not in life threatening ones.

I was just responding to the guy's statement that adrenaline is a part of the natural chemical high that we get from doing exciting things (like riding).. I wasn't endorsing the idea that riding high on THC is the same as that, or a good idea in general... I read what the first guy posted to be basically saying, "You can ride high if you want, but why don't you save it for later since you're already on an adrenaline buzz"..

I think its a pretty reasonable question. A lot of people do it, i even know experienced track riders who are 40+ years old that take a hit before a track day, just to calm their nerves.

I'm just interested in everyone's opinion on the matter, hence the survey.

Seems as though weed is quite the miracle drug these days...cures/treats whatever ailment the user wants it to....hell, it's even healthier than inhaling any other type of smoke.

I suppose "a lot of people" just need validation for their addiction.

For most pot smokers, if you substituted a shot of whiskey for each hit of weed, we'd call that person an alcoholic.

Then again, the old Irish painters in the city used to tell the fresh off the boat micks that you had to drink to keep the lead in the paint from killing you...so I guess the validation circle goes on.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet.

There is a huge difference in smoking weed everyday vs smoking every now and then.
When you smoke everyday, it becomes a part of everyday, and it affects you much less than otherwise. In those cases, I see smoking weed as no big deal.

However, as a former daily choker that has had his times weed-free and then come back to it, I'll tell you when you quit or don't smoke for a little while, even a short while, when you do smoke again it affects you a lot more.

I remember after a dry spell of about a month, I finally scored a bag. Got ripped and paranoid and didn't want to go grocery shopping. I had my sunglasses on and asked my wife if she thought it would be suspicious for me to wear my glasses inside Safeway while I shop.

:laughing

Bottom line - if it's in your blood on a daily basis, you are used to it and all good. If you only smoke on weekends, it's a bad idea.

Change the drug, the result is still the same... -Tom. (Former pot head and multiple DUI drunk driver).

i think it's you more than the booze or weed.
you didn't learn after a DUI charge. i learned before i ever got drunk.
don't blame pot or alcohol for your short-comings. some people are more prone to the effects of an intoxicant, and some people have more of a problem with addiction.
not everyone.

Hmm - not sure this is the same for all others, Tom.

I've seen many people with drinking problems, DUI's, etc. I personally have never met anyone who has had similar problems with weed. Just my experience...

I've met a lot of people who justify, explain, or otherwise, refuse to accept that substance abuse is exactly that.

Keep living the dream, it's your body, and your life...until it affects someone else. Then you have proven your point and mine....

I think alcoholism is more common, but I've definitely known people who have a problem with weed. My roommate in college had alot going for him, he was on a sports scholarship at one of the best schools in the country and flushed it down the toilet because he couldn't put the stuff down. Guy would get high everytime he came back home, didn't matter if he had an exam to take or sports practice to go to. He only lasted 1 year and got kicked out of school.
