RIP Ozzy

Snortin' ants and eatin' bats... he was one of a kind. :laughing
In the documentary he said he does not remember snortin' ants but it was probably true :laughing

The Bat thing was a mistake.. he thought it was a rubber bat thrown on stage and it grossed him out.
I did not know that they had used a catapult to launch raw meat and animal parts on to the crowd and then the fans responded throwing stuff back in later shows. Chicken parts, live frogs, etc.. and rubber (not) bats. He said rabies shots sucked.

His life was a crazy train.

Jammer and I both. It was epic. Had the Sabbath bloody Sabbath album playing in my parents rumpus room constantly.

Getting to see them live was super anticipated and fucking sweet as F or leaf. :teeth.

Had to get to the front.
We were probably rubbing elbows and didn't know it.

Blizzard of Ozz came out a few months before I graduated high school. I was living in a tiny cabin in Hayward at the time, $150 a month rent, and driving a 1969 VW Bug. I bought the cassette the first day it came out, listened to it over and over and over and over, and the next morning my cassette player ate it. That same day I went out and bought another copy, then got a new stereo for the Bug with the rest of that month's grocery money, and continued on. Ozzy was there through some pretty crazy, fun, turbulent, awesome, and traumatic years. I guess that's why his death is hitting hard.

That was cool

Here is a Biography piece on Ozzy... and fam "The Osbournes"
The show that launched reality TV.

The Grandfather of Metal and Reality TV. Never thought of him in the second regard, but I guess it is true as well.

I was never a fan of his tv career... but hey, gotta get paid.

Neither was I. Might have watched once or twice. Probably changed the channel.

The biography about it was interesting though.

KALX 90.7 has been playing a lot of Ozzy/ Black Sabbath. Every 3 hours a different DJ and they're only supposed to play 3 songs from any album or artist in that 3 hour period but between Ozzy's solo stuff and BS they've been skating that line pretty fine.

I was driving this am, listening to "Diplo's Area" the EDM, electronica station on XM satallite radio, then the DJ played Black Sabath "War Pigs" in its entirety, unmodified (no cheesey dance beats overlay)
then back to EDM.

that song truly holds up.
