Road Rage

thats a good way to get into a really bad situation...

that dudes hair... haha

Nope! You need to take driver's test again! :teeth

Stay in your lane.
Motorcycles are legally entitled to their own lane of traffic. In no situation are you allowed to drive your automobile in the same lane and in close proximity to a motorcycle. No matter how small these vehicles are or how much extra room that there appears to be, sharing a single lane with a motorcycle is a recipe for an accident and illegal.

If you fit within the lane you can share.

If two semi trucks could fit in one lane they could share it.

Please prove me wrong by citing relevant VC

In practice and as a generalization, cars and motos may not legally lane share. It's easy to test; try sharing with a car on a dy 2-lane hwy with a leo around. As a side note, it's a really nice toy to play with, abuse it on a technicality and mum might technically take it away.

OK, I just asked this question under the LEO forum thread. "Car lane sharing with a bike". Consensus was it is legal, however, I don't know if any responses were actually from LEO. I do believe that single lane two way with DY provides for no legal overtaking, but otherwise I don"t know of or have never heard of restrictions. I was hoping for more open LEO response but I am willing to bet it is a difficult subject to spell out. I'm sure any LEO seeing a car acting recklessly, crowding one of us, would respond appropriately.

It has to be legal...no one vehicle gets to "own" the lane...otherwise technically cars in front or behind couldnt be in that lane either. As long as no collisions no reason vehicles couldnt be side by side. Id bet most LEO would give someone an unsafe pass ticket, but only cause most people arent skilled enough to go door to door lol...motos can get unsafe passing while splitting too.

Um do you guys know the reason we are allowed to lane split?

It is precisely because there is no law prohibiting this very thing. Cars may do this legally, we may do this legally. There were likely other things he could have been cited for at that speed, but that pass in the same lane is perfectly fine.

I see this trend with todays youth.
Starting Shi! they can't finish.
Right or Wrong (The pass)
Rider pursued and waved to driver.
Sorry Guy's that's a challenge period!
Rider by my books was looking to fight,
and Mighty Mouse scarred him off.

Classic example of a punk who HAS never been in a fight :2cents

I thought he was going to cry at the guy at the end

What a fucking let down. If you're going to chase him until he stops at least finish it and drag him out of the car. At least know what you're going to say. Dude could have rolled up to a gun in his face, then what?
