You do know that Shark is a major brand in Europe and it is worn by many racers including Stephan Bradl in MotoGP.

Obviously they don't .. nor do they know that Tom Sykes the WSBK champ wears them and even as a replica that folks can buy or *ahem* covet since the wife won't let .. oh nevermind. ;)

It's just another 'Murican not having a clue. I love the "you only have one head" thing .. it's like Bell's old "How much is your head worth." adverts. :rofl

I don't believe they carry Shark anymore because the US distributor dropped out a while ago. Last few times I was there helmet shopping, I didn't see any. You might want to call ahead to ask. Might save you a trip.

Had an RSR2. Awesome helmet, fortunately never had to crash test it.

Revzilla still carries them, or at least parts. Got a new screen for my Evoline 2 from them a couple of months ago.
I love mine. It's nice to have a chinbar that flips over to blend into the back of the helmet as an open face.
One issue was that the chinbar latches became weak. I had to take it apart (not advisable unless you're good at taking stuff apart without breaking things) and bend the catches out slightly. Since then, it's worked perfectly.

Find a sales Joint, look at them, If you like the fit and look, buy it.

I can't believe , if it passes the test to buy it, You would be sorry that you had bought it.
Its all good, if it looks good, buy it. I will take that in the same grain I take everything else I had read by....... sorry end that now.

My Shark Speed-R Sauer is one of my favorite helmets. Far from "cheap." Build quality is very good.
Agreed. I never said cheap.
SF MOTO in SF as well.
Thanks.
My understanding is the have a new stronger distributor. Most of the major websites carry them as well.
Thanks, I realize I can get it online. Awesome post AAA+++++++++

LOL, why do people keep acting like these are hard to find.

These sites carry the entire line.
Revzilla
Helmet City
SportBikeTrackGear
Cycle Gear
MotoLiberty
Motorcycle Superstore

And locally SF MOTO.

So, the bay area has 7 million people, and there is only one place carries a small selection of these helmets (ironically, none in my size, tried that), but you seem to think that I can just go try one on. :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown

If I wanted to just buy it online, I wouldn't have asked BARF.

I had more or less the same issue when I was looking for a Shark but ended up buying it online from Revzilla. It didn't fit and I returned it and they sent me the next size down no questions and no hassle (so long as you leave tags on and return it in new re-sellable condition with no scratches, etc..). It fit perfectly. Other than the little extra time to ship to and from it really wasn't much more hassle compared to buying in store (if there was a store that carried it, which there wasn't).

p.s. Though not crash tested, awesome helmet so far. No complaints. Evo 3. I have no affiliation with above named site.

^ Too bad. When I was at SF Moto recently they only had Speed-R, Vision-R and Evoline - not a huge size selection and no Race-R Pros. FWIW, my Vision fits very much like Arai Profiles and Signets and is at least as well made (had stuff fall off last Profile and interior went south pretty fast). I'd also compare Shark fit and build to Schuberth - Vision-R fits like S2. First post, so hope it helps. Like you, I'd be hesitant to order without trying first, but the online places make swaps easy enough.
