Shooting Club

Sorry it took so long to reply. I went to Clucks & Bucks last night and didn’t get home till late. Attached is a pic of a 26mm. I didn’t serve in the Navy but I got to play Navy for three days. I was fortunate enough to get to go on a Viper Cruse on the USS Antietam CG 54. A Viper Curse is where the crew gets to bring family or friends on board for a short cruse. That’s where I got to shoot all their cool toys. The M60 was my favorite.:cool

Alright, alright... Gun check time... What are you packin'?

* HK USP-9 (full size frame), 9mm
* Remington 870 full tactical dress and 18" barrel, 12-guage
* Bushmaster XM-152S "shorty" with a bunch of 30-rounders, .223
* Davis Industries P-380, .380 -- never use that thing again (P.O.S.).

Los Altos R&G sounds like the best bet, mainly because of the tin-can range being more fun than punching paper (it gets too expensive buying multiple exploding targets at the indoor ranges, although fun as hell to see how others react :laughing)
I'm also thinking of a Stanislaus back-country shooting expedition. As long as you're 1+ miles off the main highway, you can shoot without restrictions (just no hunting out of season). That type of outing requires huge amounts of trust and strict as hell ground rules...
anyone? :teeth;):chuci

I only have 2, a Olympic Arms AR clone and a Cobray M-11 (it's like a semi-auto MAC-10 in 9mm)

Airsoft sounds like fun- so Scorp- who owned all the hardware- like the hummer, the LC etc. ?

The "Hummer" (it's really a Suburban with a kit) and the CUCVs, deuce-and-a-halfs, etc belongs to various players in this club I used to be affiliated with, called the Cimmerians (http://www.cimmerians.com).

The LCM belongs to an island resort in the delta that we rented out for the weekend. That was one of the coolest things I've ever done. The scenario called for "Marines" to assault a drug-producing island guarded by Mercs. We had a beach set up with caltrops, smoke grenades, etc. It was like the Normandy invasion, and the sounds of BBs ricocheting off the hull of the LCM , and shotguns firing screamer shells, was freaky. It was so realistic we actually had some players who refused to get off the LCM. I managed to get my team out but got ripped apart after taking about 4 steps, hehe. I gained a whole new respect for the D-Day veterans that day.

I shoot at a nice place in Vacaville called The Shooting Gallary. Real nice Place.

Will do. Like I said, we usually have the training and shoot on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 5:30 to 11:00 PM so the next shoot will likely be on Sept. 14th.
...
And as far as the holster goes, as a beginner, you will not be allowed to use any fancy shoulder, small of back, inside waist, ankle, basically any concealed holster is not acceptable. We do concealed-carry training too (especially in the winter months) but first you gotta prove to us you won't shoot yourself or anybody else. So just get a standard open-carry hip holster that goes on your belt.

this is a good thing. I would be your rank beginner on the range but very interested in becoming proficient with a small arms CQB carry type I have (the ex 250 of the gun world? :p pls. don't laugh when you see it :p ). I'll let my cousin know too, now he is quite the gun nut (just got a ltd. edition Valtro etc.) and sounds like will be right at home. tell me more about sign up etc. since the SF gun exchange closed I need to get a belt and holster somewhere.
