Once you read the sleep book I mentioned above, so much will make sense about modern times and our international mental illness from sleep deprivation. I have taken his recommendations seriously and I believe it has helped my mental and physical health.

This guy is one of the two top researchers on sleep and he worked with the other guy in developing the information base.

I’ve said it before and will
Say it again: our current societal time system is 100% bad for our health

12-8 on weekdays 1-9 or 1-10 on weekends depending on the substances consumed :teeth

Also no alarms...

There's nothing like the feeling of taking a nap on a weekend afternoon in flannel sheets and blankets that had been recently washed and dried, after working like a dawg all week long ...

This!!!! So Much This!!!!

I'm not a fan of flannel, but I love; cool, freshly laundered sheets. My weekend naps are wonderful. My Wife and I are up at 5:00AM on Saturday and Sunday, to take our crazy dogs out. So, I will try to get my "Chores" done early, so that I can; 1. Take a Shower 2. Grab some cold beverages 3. Climb in Bed and 4. Fall asleep watching college football. :thumbup

what is this ‘sleep’ you speak of? i have a vague memory of rest. am afraid i have abused my internal clock so thoroughly, it is broken. it has ceased to function. permanently it seems. :(

my greatest envy is bears - and their ability to hibernate. i need to find a cave.

:laughing

I have a healing hibernation super power. When I get sick or injured, I just sleep for a couple of days and arise rapidly healed. I have always told girlfriends dumbfounded by this ability that it is because the tribe my people came from were bear worshipers, which is true. :laughing

Shit, I have a friend who is EXACTLY like this. Pisses me off. His other super powers are the ability to get shit faced, then jump out of bed the next day energized and go play tennis.
Also, he rarely gets sick, he believe his health is related to his ability to eat anything no one else will tough in the refrigerator: moldy, old, nasty shit that I would not touch. His take on this: keep your immune system healthy by constantly challenging it.

And he has absolutely no issues sleeping.

I also have these things, except for my sleep disorder.

Yeah if I get actually sick, STFU, leave me alone and let me sleep. Hot. Get the core temp up to kill the nasties. Usually back in a couple days.

I too have a sleep disorder. I start work at 5:00AM and I love my works schedule, because I wake up, like clock-work, between 3-4:00AM everyday!!!

I go to bed at 8:00PM each night and I will often wake throughout the night. My puppy has a screwed up schedule too. She has been waking my Wife and I up every 3-4 hours to go potty.

I'm ecstatic whenever I can sleep the entire night w/o interruptions.

Shit, this is me. I wake up 2-3 times a night. I started using a light alarm backed up with a sound alarm, and I will have to say, the light alarm is really good.. that is until my body started to anticipate the light and I get up earlier :laughing
