Thanks for update Butch. Was just going to call now.

We should update first post to warn folks from using their iPhone map app routing. I doubt anyone would really follow it… but who knows. My phone is still showing incorrect route.

"map app routing"? Silly humans. Death by GPS I say!

Randy you can borrow my 21 500 6 day. You just have to come get it from our house It's on the way with a small deviation your the only one I would trust on it
I don't have enough room on the trailer

Jack - this is just a super generous offer -- thank you SO MUCH!

I'm completely consumed with my bike engine so I can get back riding, so will need to pass on your very kind offer.

It all started about two months ago -I started hearing a different noise in the engine. Rode it for a while and noise became more noticeable. After about a month, I thought it might be the camshaft bearing or timing chain, and I had found some metal particles on the drain plug. Replaced both parts with no success -- the noise kept getting louder.

Decided to tear down the engine. Discovered the rod bearing was bad. Piston and barrel were scored. Ordered parts and am now in the process of rebuilding the whole engine. Have had to buy and make some tools along the way. Won't be able to rest or relax til I'm done.

Plan to catch you and Cathy in Spring -- thanks again for the wonderful offer --it's very appreciated! Enjoy the ride! Randy

What? Noooo! When I finally get to go? Perhaps I must stop by and discuss

Hi Butch - just explained my engine adventure to Jack on this forum.

Sorry I'm going to miss the ride but look forward to riding with you all at Stonyford in Spring with a brand new engine, as well as with you at Metcalf!

Take care and enjoy the ride!

Randy
P.S. Replied your post about Sally on SBR

Bummer Randy, you will be missed!

So how many hours and miles did you finally get out of it? I seem to remember you were near the high teens or even 20k miles last time we chatted. Yours was that unicorn of a very well maintained bike that outlasted all others! :thumbup
I was looking forward to seeing everybody but the fickle finger of fate had other plans.
The engine has 1372 hours and 33652 miles on it.
I changed the piston and barrel at 1000 hours because the engine started using oil.
Along the way a couple of rocker arms got replaced.
Clutch is original and still in spec. I have 2 spare clutch packs because I bought one and then forgot that I had it so I bought another one.

I'll be there Thursday. I have a babysitter for the cats. The wife died seven weeks and three days ago, so I am still a bit of a mess. Staying busy is key.

Yet i forget things. Food? If you guys offer me a meal it would be cool. I am bringing a bunch of cans of sardines.

Oscar at Racepace made the TM alive. Haven't ridden it for years.

Look forward to see y'all.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife Butch! I have no words that can help. :(

I'm glad to see you have the TM back up and running. Didn't you drown it in the river and brake the crank about 6 years ago?

Our 3 hour drive took 6 hours we left at 10 am and just got home
stopped for lunch in Fairfield and the RV would not start The engine lost fuel pressure after an hour So what the hell lets put a dab of gas in the intake this is a Diesel and it fired up Yay Check engine light kept coming on and it would die I had a code reader it said (low fuel pressure) ok pull the intercooler hose add a dab of gas put hose on and were off Till the next hill and had to do this about 6 times I thought we would never get home
What ever this is it was getting worse fast It has a new fuel filter So something else is haunting it.

Yeah! StonyBarf rules!

@KTMJack - Sorry about the RV troubles, but glad you made it home on your own.

@Butch - Thanks as usual, but also great to see you there.

I need a dirt bike, but I had a blast riding with Bananachunks, John, Dave, Tony, and Tim.. Also was great talking to everyone and what a campfire!

Dude that thing is a dirt bike! But you could buy my 200. You might just love it.

Good to see everyone and ride a bit. Did 45 miles on Saturday and 15 or so Sunday, weather was hot but the ridges were fine. Coming down Letts on Saturday you could feel the temp jump about half way down, valley was a little stove!

Good to see Butch again, been a couple of years since he's been up. Dimitry, Trevor and I went and got a truck load of oak for the fire on Friday, managed to burn all of it.

Dimitry flew a bottle of Mike's from camp down to the thirsty folks hanging at the creek, was too funny watching that drone take off with the bottle hanging below then heading the 1/4 mile or so to the creek, epic stonybarf right there.

Glad to here you made it back Jack, that must've been a long trip worrying about whether the pressure would just die or not. Not fun.

Another great Stonybarf! It was great to see everyone and meet new people.

It was hot but as Elemental said -cooler up top.

The folks did a good job clearing trails, but there is more work to do.

Glad you made it home Jack and Kathy! Dig in and you'll figure it out!

Great to see you Butch! Don't forget to replace your missing rear sprocket bolts.

Stella!
You always remember your first time.
Thanks Lucy and Jenn for the bike and boots

Great wknd, good company, and fun times!

I think John is up north through the end of the week, but I know he got some good pics of the the drone Dima was flying to deliver drinks from the campground to the swimming hole.... :laughing :thumbup

Trevor's form, while anything but classical, was the winner in my book diving off the rocks into the swimming hole. :laughing

It was warm, but comfortable up top riding and in the swimming hole for the afternoon. Enjoyed the shade John's set up provided, and even some ice cream Tony provided! :teeth

Did anyone other than John and George ride up and camp? Always impressed at the commitment that it takes arrive there on a bike. :ride

Surprised to see Chris, 1/2 of the Limon brothers and his son along with Steph and his son. Great treat.

Glad to hear Stella had a good time Josh! Always great to see new folks enjoying motos and camping. :thumbup

Great StonyBARF turnout! Was so surprised by all the Thursday arrivals.

Glad you made it back ok Jack…unfortunate to have to deal with but fortunately you knew how to get her to putt home.
It was some great riding had a blast seeing all of you and finally meeting Butch in person!

Thank you all for all the Birthday wishes and singing Happy Birthday…couldn’t have planned a better celebration…friends, camping, and riding! While out riding on Saturday I thought…this is an awesome way to spend the first day of being a year older 😉
Thanks again everyone for being a awesome bunch of humans….until next time…ride safe 🤘🏼 ~Renee

Really an awesome four days of riding! I was glad to finally meet you, Butch. I'll make sure and bring the smokes next time. I'm Analucia, by the way--forgot to mention Lucytriple in the PayPal.

Jen and I wore ourselves out, realized four days is a lot of riding, and can't wait for next time. I heard Dimitry talking smoked pork shoulder next time. Hells yeah. Count me in.
