Stop calling it a 'sport'

For me its a hobby/Passion (in a sense)

Some people see it as a way of living/scene. I'm very partial to this saying though seeing as how I don't use leathers for pajamas, and I have no Valentino Rossi posters anywhere in my apartment. :) moto's are something that I stepped into by getting a scooter initially, but learned to love over time.

They call this a sport. Even made Olympic Competition. Is it really a sport? Are these guys actually hitting the gym/ice rink hard on special diet, strength training, running miles and miles to work on stamina......NO they fricken show up game day and hope they can brush brush brush brush ice.

It's the only Olympic sport that stops for cigarette breaks. Srsly.

Gaahh, someone's been rooting around in the cellar again!

I replied, then quickly deleted it. Hopefully without anyone else quoting it!

There exists car racing. So when I get in my Acura, is that a 'sport'?

There exists the Tour de France. So if I get on a bike to go to work, is that a 'sport'?

Why the hell should riding a motorcycle off the track be called a 'sport'?

I think it's just a bad idea, period; it encourages the sort of road racing / urban stunting attitude that in turn makes things dangerous for me, Mr. "I just want to ride to work / school / the nearest pretty mountain".

Yes, you /can/ treat it as a sport. But please don't, unless you're on the track or some big open out-of-the-way industrial area. :hand

I understand the spirit behind the newbie "welcome to the sport"... but please find some other phrase to use.

Get on hwy9 on Sat and Sun 8am to 5pm 2 tanks and should equal to about 50 to 80 laps, yes its a sport for ME, dont loot at everyone throw your eyes...let things be
