Thank you for sharing! We are doing flow drills and I am always amazed at how simple it is. I believe there was some JKD and Aikido going on in there as well.

So is it just me or is the guy in red jumping into the wall more than being pushed? Especially at 2:50 to 3:00.

Maybe I don't get what's going on here.

Tai chi and wingchun are usually considered a joke amongst the MA community. I'm not sure if the OP was poking fun at them or if he really believed in their methods.

Kinda looked that way to me, too.

It doesn't hurt to learn multiple styles. Ever. It wasn't until I did some tai chi that my boxing really started to improve. Helped my balance and gave me heavy hands. If you write stuff off as a joke, it's not going to help you in the long run.

Thought the same thing too .. but I wouldn't completely discount it.

After all, isn't that what ppl thought about Bruce Lee's 1" punch ?

I hear ballet will do wonders for your footwork.

It does look like that. I know then when I train sometimes my boby just goes with the move because I don't want to get hurt by something silly. This could be what is going on.

Oh really? I would like to know more. Have you taken a Tai Chi class or a Wing Chun class? Have you stuck with it for over a month to see what you pick up from it? Why is FSA closed?

+1 each MA will teach you something regardless of how small or large it is.

Read any MA forum like Bushido or sherdog and you will see why I said that. I'm not doing research for you. Since you took the time to look up FSA you can take the time to search those forums.
FSA isn't closed they just changed the name.

So you haven't taken a class, sparred with someone that knows those arts or even taken the time to look into it yourself but instead just believe what you read on the internet? I believe you are the one that needs to "do the research" and I respectfully disagree with your opinion since you don't have any real experience with it.

Agreed with this, and I have a couple years experience teaching martial arts. The opponent in the videos posted appears to be a training partner. Typically, when you practice with someone experienced in the art, they already know what to expect and have a muscle memory reaction to most of the art's techniques. Training that way is safer since the partner won't tend to fight a joint lock, but it doesn't really demonstrate the effectiveness of an art.

Best test of a martial art is against an opponent trained in a completely different art. One of the sad facts of modern MMA is that it really doesn't seem to be mixed these days. Seems both opponents have a (sloppy) mix of boxing / Thai-kickboxing and some BJJ.

I'm both a Filipino and martial arts aficionado - but the techniques in that video and the overacting are crap.
