The Electric Motorcycle Thread

I typically only plug my Energicas into 110v if I'm putting it into long term storage mode. Otherwise, I have a 240v charger in my garage for charging my EVs.

I would argue that if you have a home and garage, you need a 240v charger installed if you're going to own an EV.

Haha it reminds me of Kawasaki power tools

The Alta is about 265lbs and I didn't find it too heavy, I feel the bike felt a little large for me. I wouldn't let the weight scare you away because how it feels when you ride it is what counts. Like the Cake bike feels like a bigger bike than the Light Bee and they're only like 10lbs apart.

I got weak low back, I threw it out a while back and was aggravate it again at Metcalf, when i had to pick up my bike 4 times in a session. The CRF250L is 320 lbs, a bit porky. But yeah, when I ride it, it doesn't feel heavy, just the lifting part, LOL

BTW, this guy let me ride his Segway X260 for a couple of laps around the mini-mx track. Pretty cool. He said he wish the bike dimension could be bigger. He said something around 200 lbs would be nice. I find that electric KTM more appealing, but never seen one, yet...

I trashed my back picking up my WR250R from a steep slope and hear you! This was one of my motivations for going light - thus my order in for a Kuberg Ranger. 120#, 14kW (~19H.P.), awesome power to weight! I've yet to see a better ratio for under $15,000.

SR/F review - definitely worth the watch.

Anyone that does not know Electric Cowboy should know that he set a land speed record on a Zero back in the day. He is also the guy behind the Diginow onboard fast chargers. I have one.

He will tell you like it is if something is not right and he has done a lot of reviews about the safety issues with the Lightning Strikes.

This is not the first time Zero had an issue with State of Charge (SOC) software. Its happened on the S/SR/DS/DSR models also. I don't know the source of the problem, but in general estimating SOC technically tricky for any EV. Even on the Tesla Forms people are questioning some small weird behavior. Expect a SOC tolerance larger than +/- 3%.

Yeah, that ranger looks interesting, a hybrid design. I have seen other electric dirt stand up scooters in the past, always liked the idea.

10 kW peak, 13.4 HP peak. It's a Power Wheel.

:laughing

interesting 2 battery arrangement, it's like 2 surron batteries, you can run 1 or 2.

i wonder how much these influencers are getting paid... :rolleyes:laughing

I had a Jeep power wheels when I was a kid =P Like the Sur Ron it has a high and low power mode. Haha too bad I don't have it anymore I would turn it into a drift Jeep!

Wait so you have the EVA Ribelle and an EVA SS9? I just rented an EVA 107 and man I like it but I'm kinda torn between the EVA and the SS9. How do the two compare? I have ridden both but for demo rides. I wish I could ride them back to back. I feel the SS9 was more comfortable to ride. What do you think?

The SS9 is definitely more comfortable. When I bought it, I had an SR/F on order but after test riding the SS9 I canceled that order and bought the SS9 instead.

Maybe it’s because I’m older and not in the best shape but I can only tolerate my Ribelle for an hour or so before I start to feel it in my wrists, back, and sometimes my legs. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Ribelle. I think the more aggressive riding position makes it more fun on back roads but if my SS9 had the larger battery, I probably wouldn’t have bought the Ribelle.

If you’re looking at the newer Energicas and you want to do longer rides, I have no problem recommending the SS9+ over the Ribelle and Ego even though it has less power. Test riding a new SS9+ after riding to the dealer on my 13kw SS9, I definitely noticed the new one has a bit more grunt. I don’t know what if anything changed between the 13kw and 21kw SS9 but my seat of the pants impression was that the new 21kw SS9 felt more powerful. Of course it could just be my bike needing some adjustments, like too much slack in the chain or something.

How tall are you?

You try different bars or bar risers?

I'm 5'11". I was going to go with the SS9 bars and pegs installed on my Ribelle but when I decided to keep my SS9 (I only have room for 2 bikes and I had to pick between my Triumph Trophy and the SS9), I decided to keep the Ribelle stock.

Swapping out the bars and footpegs on the Ribelle is certainly an option but IMHO only worth it if you want the added power of the Ribelle and the comfort of the SS9 (although it's not like the SS9 is underpowered or anything).

Plus, for back road twisties, I do like the aggressive riding position on the Ribelle more. It's just that for long rides, I much prefer the comfort of the SS9 riding position.
