***The Last SF Travelling Social 10/19 ~ Chinatown/NorthBeach***

While you're at Mr. Bing's, walk across the street to the San Francisco Brewing Company, which I'm told is far more pleasant and has better and cheaper beer. Being a non-drinker, I wouldn't know about that, but the food there is good.

The Pig & Whistle is nice and yes they treat us well (who wouldn't with the $$$ we bring in?) but there is no arguing that a venue of their size simply cannot accommodate our group even on a mellow night.

When it gets colder, things will be even worse as more bodies huddle inside to stay warm. Inside the bar you can't even have a conversation and the "shushing" begins promptly at 8! These factors cause the number of Wednesday meet attendees to shoot down dramatically between November and March, which sucks.

The San Francico Brewing Company is owned by a member of the Northstars MC and their monthly meetings are at this venue. I can vouch that their size can easily accommodate us on a good night and there are plenty of restaurants nearby in addition to the full kitchen in the venue itself. The only drawback I can see is that parking is not plentiful for cagers :)cry - waah!). I strongly recommended this venue for the travelling meets but it did not make the final cut.

I think it would be cool if our meets supported fellow motorcyclists' businesses. I would suggest we consider larger venues in the future because I am not looking forward to getting another cold or three from standing out in the wind tunnel also known as Geary St. just to talk to my friends.

Just my two cents,
-Alicia

P.S. Not making it tonight, sorry kids. :cry

+1

I think Alicia makes an excellent point. I move we have at least one more "Traveling Meet" at the SF Brewing Co. to audition the place.

Hell, Frankie, here's my food counter-proposal, let's eat at the SF Brewing Co. tonight! :banana

Let's do it! :Port 6:30? Who else is in?

I gotta figure out the flattest route possible from SoMa. :|

Ok, if we do a travelling meet at

Hungry I
546 Broadway
San Francisco, CA 94133

I'm in.

:teeth

The dinner place is right across the street from the meet? So, we can park at Mr Bings and walk? Or is it not THAT close?

OK, count me in for dinner!

Looks like I will be flying solo tonight, so I will probably be on the Duc... unless any of the attendees happen to be really good at kick starting motards and might be willing to help me out... then maybe I will borrow the Other Bike.

:teeth

I'll be at Mr. Bing's but I will be late so no dinner for me. See you all tonight!

And JMack, I've got more crack for ya!

I'll call FAP I mean Bap but I won't be staying too long cause...

RICK AND I ARE GOING TO TRACKDAY MANIANA !!! :banana

we're heading out to BWillow straight from the meet.

Also, bike parking is teh suck around the SF BREW and Bings. I suggest you park around the Transamerica (plenty of moto spots) and walk up to the SF BREW. It's only a couple of blocks.

OK, I'll ride then.

I think Slowpoke is gonna save some parking spaces if possible...
