Lurks for the lulz
ro-monster said:While you're at Mr. Bing's, walk across the street to the San Francisco Brewing Company, which I'm told is far more pleasant and has better and cheaper beer. Being a non-drinker, I wouldn't know about that, but the food there is good.
The Pig & Whistle is nice and yes they treat us well (who wouldn't with the $$$ we bring in?) but there is no arguing that a venue of their size simply cannot accommodate our group even on a mellow night.
When it gets colder, things will be even worse as more bodies huddle inside to stay warm. Inside the bar you can't even have a conversation and the "shushing" begins promptly at 8! These factors cause the number of Wednesday meet attendees to shoot down dramatically between November and March, which sucks.
The San Francico Brewing Company is owned by a member of the Northstars MC and their monthly meetings are at this venue. I can vouch that their size can easily accommodate us on a good night and there are plenty of restaurants nearby in addition to the full kitchen in the venue itself. The only drawback I can see is that parking is not plentiful for cagers
I think it would be cool if our meets supported fellow motorcyclists' businesses. I would suggest we consider larger venues in the future because I am not looking forward to getting another cold or three from standing out in the wind tunnel also known as Geary St. just to talk to my friends.
Just my two cents,

P.S. Not making it tonight, sorry kids.

6:30? Who else is in?
