True, R7 is a makeover fz07/mt07. Not much new since 2016? Forks and redesigned looks?

IMO, out of the box is no comparison to the Aprilia 660 performance or chassis wise. Still gonna have to put 8-10g's into the R7 to get near the 660 performance. Better have spare motors.

Spare motors for both brands! Aprilia's race support sucks pretty bad, so it's kinda like a race of the deficient. Will be interesting to see Corey on that grid against Kaleb.

You do get a few more goodies on the 2021, though...

$18K and change isn't a great deal, but not the worst either. Once you're not stock selling off stock bodywork, it's around $17.5K or so. You're married to GYTR for most of your part replacements and the QS is a 1/2 unit, so...2020 used/ Copart unit and it's game on.

Lightweight changes to Supertwin class

As part of the modernisation of the TT, the Bennetts Lightweight TT is now the Bennetts Supertwin TT with the regulations adapted to permit the use of more modern machinery.

The Supertwin TT class now allows twin-cylinder machines up to 700cc, including the Aprilia RS6600, Tuono 660, Yamaha MT-07 and new Yamaha YZF-R7 (not the OW-02).
