The Official 2016/2017 NFL Thread

Yeah, Green Bay and Pitt could be a legit Superbowl this year. That would be awesome to have those two historic franchises in together. It is so rare that the AFC gets to put a properly dignified (More than 65 years old) football team into the Superbowl.

This would be my pick too! It would mean that I would have a divided office (co-worker/friend is huge GB fan) but I don't really care about that. We, Pittsburgh (with an h), always have a hard time getting through Foxborough. Last time (04-05 I believe) did not fair well for us. This time everyone will be in the lineup though so I have faith.

I am focused on KC this week though. It certainly won't be easy but should be a great game. Was looking at tickets today for it, I will be staying in the area. LOL.

Just can't believe how dull all four wildcard games were, the home teams destroyed the road teams. Compared to last year when all four road teams won.

Parity and shit.

to be fair the OAK v HOU game should have been much more competitive given how the Raiders got there (with Carr)

Miami also had their backup QB in the game, missing their Pro Bowl center Pouncey too. Do you really think Pittsburgh would have won without Big Ben? :x

good point Re /Tanehill and Moore but yes, I think PIT wins handily based on how Brown and Bell were smashing.

bring out Charlie Batch and I think it's the same results against Moore's Fins.

Nawww, that game was strangely closer than the score. Could've easily been tied in the 3rd, but weird turnovers happened.

Steelers would have NO chance without Big Ben. None. He's just that good.

sad part is that exactly what's gonna happen. that's what new front offices do. they draft "their guy"

despite there being tons of information that says taking a QB in the top of the first is a 50/50 crap shoot

Eh. If they hire McDaniels, I'd say there is a better shot that they go after Garoppolo.

I won't matter who they get as QB at this point as the QB will just get injured in the ongoing dumpster fire in Santa Clara.

Hot take right there Fred.

Mike Williams was bailing Watson out last night. Frankly I'd rather take him at 2.

What are the odds that say the NY Giants trade the niners or browns for their pick and grab a QB... Is Eli done in NY?

Moving from 23 to 1 or 2 would be an insane amount of picks that the Giants don't have.

Eli still has a few years left though, there's no real need to trade up like that

No way, not at all. It is kind of like I said earlier in the season. I think coaching is the problem, honestly. Nassib in the preseason is my gauge. The year before, with a WORSE O-Line, Tom Brady is the only guy that threw more TD's than Eli and he threw only 1 more. If last years Offense had this years Defense, we very probably would have taken the Superbowl, despite the inability to Run. This year, the O-Line is better AND we have Cruz & Sheppard on the field. Even if his arm is failing, it should be comparable play base don the improvements. The major factor is that wasn't an obvious improvement over last year is that Coughlin is no longer calling the Offense.

Speakping of Cruz and WR, how many think their Monday excursion to Miami derailed their game? IMO, you wait until after the season is over, then do whatever you want. Seems they had a lack of focus for the game. Maybe a factor, maybe not, I don't know but it seems to have made an impact.

I agree with Eli: they had a great week of practice so the Miami trip didn't seem to affect them. but they did have the dropsies during the game. to which, Eli stated "when you put yourself out there to have your decisions scrutinized, you have to back it up with your play" (paraphrased).

I dont think the Miami trip derailed them as a team physically... I think they just had a hard time with the cold... It was stupid to see them out there with no shirt on before the game "Im not cold! Cold doesnt bother me"

We get it, youre a tough guy.
