The XFL came into existence when I was still coaching little league football. We let the players put whatever they wanted on their name-plates that year. It was fun. The ones who didn't use their surnames picked nicknames all of their family knew. Of course the league made a rule to put an end to it the following off season.

I do not think you understand. When the Lombardi trophy was created after expanding the NFL with all the new teams, it was called that BECAUSE so many championships had previously been won by Green Bay and Coach Lombardi. I think that he has 8 Championships by himself. That is crazy, although, if the Shitbirds choke, Belicheat will be getting close to that.
 
I only count 6: 1 as OC with the Gnatis and the rest as HC with GB.

That doesn't really answer the original question though.

They are the same thing. :dunno Sometimes I wonder about those pre-Championship Game ones from before 1931, but :dunno If the NFL says they are legit, I figure they count as legit.
 
But Lombardi only accounted for 3 of their 9 NFL championships?

I'm confused. I thought you asserted that the SB trophy is called the Lombardi because he won so many championships? He won 3 ships and 2 SB as a head coach. Bellicheat has now won the same number and been to two more. Maybe the trophy should be renamed now?

How does that make sense? It has never been changed because someone else caught up to Lombardi, he was just the winningest Coach at the time they started using that Trophy and he won the first 2 of them. :dunno
