What about the taint? I find that to be the most challenging.
that is a little more difficult but as long as you do it regularly... it's pretty easy.
shaving the puppehs maybe adds 5 minutes to my shower - tops.

I have heard that this hair removal stuff works really well down there.

I been doing it for about 3 years now. Check out theshaveden forums. Good information on those boards, not as active as I was in the past.
Razors i got
- grandfather's gillette superspeed (forget the year at the moment, def. has 20+ years of patina)
- gillette slim adjustable 1963
- gillette superspeed flaretip 1959
- EJ De89L
- FaTip Grande open comb
Brushes
- 2 omegas
- 2 cheapos
- my advice just use whatever seems to work up a lather and get your whiskers up
- i been just face lathering now since it works better
bowls
- cheapo that came with a set, does the job
favorite blade
- bic chromes
- personas
- russian blades
soaps
- too many but cheap and easy is C.O. Bigelow (rebranded Proraso) from bath and body works.
- theshaveden soap works as well
- the bath shop has some fancy mens one with some type of root extract. Not bad at all
I tried straight razors but they need to be sharp and my beard dulls out blades quick and my lack of stropping messed up my blade. I tried a cheapo from whipped dogs and was a good introduction. A little harder to do if your scared to cut your neck but its fun.
I just saw that in RiteAid yesterday and thought, "Oh, goodie, napalm in a tube!"

So the question is, why so many razors? Are they fun to collect (just to have), or do you use different ones for different purposes?
They are a disease. Stay away from Badger and Blade. You will be sorry.

It was requoteable!I have nothing to add, I just wanted to quote this post.![]()

easy peasy - don't be a clumsy, I've yet to nick the boys.
yeah yeah. we all have tough beards. wait til you first try using a safety razor on your balls.
.
I haven't had the *ahem* balls to try it yet
Too late.
I haven't even started yet and I'm jonesing for several different brushes and razors. I think I'll give the Whipped Dog DEal a try - razor, silvertip brush, some blades and soap for $50 is a hell of a deal and the WD guy (Larry) has a great rep on B&B.
I also find myself wanting to go into antique stores "just to see" if they have some vintage razors for cheap.
If I get the WD DEal for myself even though I know my girlfriend is getting me some other shave equipment, is that cheating?
Didn't realize so many Bikers were "Manscapers" LOL

For those who switched from cartridges to DE, did your shave pattern change?
I'd recommend getting a bunch of one blade to start with. Something cheap and middle of the road like Astras or Personna Blues. After your technique is solid, then try sampler packs to see what works best for your skin. Maggard razors is great for samples.
I made the mistake of using a sampler before I had my technique down. I ended up with no valuable info because any shave-to-shave variability was more due to technique than the blades.
Not really, but it takes more passes with DE.
I find the opposite to be true with shark blades
the feathers required significantly more passes
Interesting. I was just reading about the Muhle R41 and people were saying that one or two passes did the job, whereas they needed two or three with a cartridge.
It comes down to face + blade + razor, I guess.
