Thoughts from a newbie

so, once you have more seat time, the intermediate riders course (irc) focuses a lot on both where you need to be looking, and best body position for ballance in low speed and also higher speed cornering.

good luck on your journey, and remember, don't overthink things, and there is no substitute for active seat time.

Hello everyone again!!! I'm back with news!!!

I passed my MSF course the second time last weekend! :ride

I wanted to come back to thank BARF for taking the time to help me out. I think it's really made a huge difference on my journey as a rider so far, and I don't know if I could've pulled it off if I hadn't met the compassionate and knowledgeable riders as I have. I managed to pass everything within the standards for a beginner! I only got a minor deduction for my high-speed corner being around a second too slow. Definitely having more confidence, and trusting my eyes more was a huge difference. Also tightening my legs and core!

When November rolls around, I'll start looking to finally buy a new helmet and seeing if I can get used gear for my first set. From what I've heard, this should include an airbag as well! Then I'll get a used bike, probably a Z400, Ninja400, or R3, and off to the parking lots!

But yeah, that's all, thank you everyone, and I'll keep asking questions! I still have a long way to go as a rider, but I'm just really, really grateful to have gotten the help that I have.

Eeeeeeey! Congratulations! You are being very thoughtful and careful with getting into this, that's great! Motorcycling is such a joy but it worthwhile thinking through the risks and mitigating as much as possible. Enjoy the process.

Congratulations!

What size gear do you need, height weight shoe size etc. Some of us have some extra stuff lying around so let us know!
Ah, I was actually planning to try to write up a post to ask for them in November!

Though, I still do have a handful of questions about picking and finding gear before then... Is it better to ask those questions here or give it its own thread?

You might get a more focused discussion with a new thread. It may also make it easier for others to find the info in the future.

Agreed on the new thread. I have some stuff too.
Not sure how bug sizes relate though. :p
