With bolt cutters, I would think it would be pretty difficult to get a clean cut big enough to slide the lock out of, and I bet that kind of lock would have been enough of a deterrent for the asshat in the pictures in this thread.

You can't just taze someone... but if you were making a citizen's arrest and he resists your lawful orders to comply... sure.

(As in he raised his bolt cutters in a threatening manner and I defended myself...)

I still like the idea of letting him break into the trailer and then locking him in there.
 
Here is the solution.

I saw one of these on a commercial van yesterday and it looked seriously robust. No way to get a crowbar or bolt cutters on it. (The round part is about 3" in diameter.)

Obviously this guy is not a very good thief. I wish all thieves were as easily caught.
 
Would this be a bad time to point out something BARF mechanics have in common?

1. Elskipador already proven to be bad for the community.

2. Alan now improving overall thief gene pool by weeding out bad thieves. Surviving thieves bigger, faster, stronger.
