8/25/13 Update
Well finally getting back to the groove after SpeedWeek. I had a lot of time to think about changes and things to fix. While it wasn't the best speeds for us, the consistency of the high 190's <195 to 199> gave me confidence in the seat and repositioning my body geometry a bit.
The one thing that keeps eating at me though are the "what ifs" . Mainly a change we should have made on Tuesday before packing it in. If I were to do it again, knowing what ate at me on the way home, I would have taken a day away from the salt, relaxed a bit, came back and made the bike changes I wanted, then ran again end of week. It would have been important to get that baseline. Either way, live and learn. I need to put my head back into the dirty mile at Elmo so we can keep our points up, and finish out the year. The Top3 Bikes, which we are #2 currently, is really close in points. One slip up, or missing a race will knock us down to #3 or #4 fast. So it's vital we keep the motor healthy and try to set another record in September. I have a lot of little fixes we need to do before September 15. This next race at El Mirage is the most important race this year for us. We must get at least 200 points.
Here's a few pix from SpeedWeek 2013 of our effort:
The plan was to run on Course 1, which is the longest. We switched over to Course 2 as the conditions on 1 were to soft. Here's the event map.

By the 6th day, and the 4th day running at Top Speed, I was getting a little worn out.
This picture was snapped before my last run on Tuesday, and a 198 pass.
The 5 mile stare was getting a little fuzzy.

As the speeds increase, I will push my ass back and get down farther.

Our last run slip of the event. We only needed 7 MPH more for the record and Red Hat.
But trust me, 7 MPH more was a long way away for us that day sadly.
We did our best, thankfully didn't blow up the motor, ran a hard 6 passes and at least beat my Aussie Competitor by 5MPH or greater. We remain #3 in the Bonneville Nationals behind Jack Broomall and Nancy W., and still hold the #1 Production 1650 Bike in the SCTA and the Dirty Mile. I'm proud of our little teams effort, we are way ahead so far with two new Records (May and July) and our little Production Bike is pulling her weight this year and performing well. We must keep it together for 3 more races and possibly remain in the Top3 Overall in Bikes for 2013.
