No El Mirage this year? Was looking forward to the first meet to say Hello. If not, definitely see you at BUB`s.

Of course! And the MM to. I was just answering Lou's question about Wheeler and giving B'ville event dates.
But yes, I'll be at Elmo trying to up my 191 record in the dirt.

There should be some serious streamliner action this year. Watching/hearing these guys go by makes the hair on your neck stand straight up.

11 miles goes by real quick at 350+ mph...

Have you seen Yacoucci's build lately? I think he's planning on going SuperSonic in the Neb III :party
I'm just a slow biker, those S class guys and gals are nuckin futs.

BTW, if your gonna do SCTA, I need to get you in our club (SDRC). Let's chat about it so we can get you voted in so you can race for points.

I have lost many hours on the build threads @ Landracing forum. What people build in a quanset hut shed covered in snow over a Winter blows my mind.

:laughing Oh I totally agree with you Jim. You go on Tuesday night Chat at all? I love the 10 conversations going on around CK and a few others. Those guys crack me up with what they have going. But as you know, we salty's are a different breed.

As someone who will never need something over a H rated tire, I rarely venture out of the BUB section :laughing Have met some great people there though that genuinely will help anyone.

There is some definte tension between car and bike guys it seems. You catch the shitstorm over the 2013 streamliner rule to increase tubing size? Lot of folks say it happened to get rid of the bikes everywhere but the salt.

Thanks for the dates I can mark my calendar now :thumbup

I'd suspect the Bub Motorcycle Speed trials would be the one..But, with these dates,
I'll have more to go on, to tie into what I find out later...:thumbup

3/4/13 Update

Well in some respects we're farther along than I had hoped for, in others, we are still behind. Such is the nature of amateur motor sports, where budgets are what the wife tells you it is, and after your chores are done around the house. :laughing

In 1650PP:
The Motor is re-assembled, in the cradle on the Dyno. All wired up ready to go, we have a short in the Alternator circuit and almost melted our very expensive harness. Not good. More custom work needed on splicing and water/salt proof connectors. Arrrggghhh.

In 1350BF:
Almost all fixed and new components are carted ready for re-assembly. A little more head work and some gear stuff for the tranny is what's left on the engine core. Still working on charge temp reduction stuff and some crazy ideas for that. Not sure yet about the Subframe and our final bodywork either.

In 1000SC-P:
I'm still sorting through Willie's outfit. He had a lot of spares and stuff. I have a new harness design in my head I need to breadboard up. Wizard aint looking at the motors yet until the 1650 is off the dyno and the 1350 is sorted.

Our team has applied for a couple new Sponsors (component based). I feel pretty good about our program so far, and also happy with my personal weight still going down (I'm 20#s lighter so far :party) and the workout regime will step up more until May comes. We just need to get into the season early, get points and dominate a record or two.

I'm looking for a volunteer on the 1000cc Buell Pushrod stuff. Needs to be intimate with tear apart of the early 1000cc and has own machinist measuring tools to help sort parts in spec. The volunteer will work also with our builder fetching and learning race motor assembly practices. PM me for more details. This is a 4x Record Holding bike, and we plan on carrying the legacy into 2013/14.

4/12/13 Update

I was allowed a conjugal visit today with my girls.

- 14 motor sits in her cradle waiting for break-in and testing in the motor room. Target now is next week. Please let this go well.

- Blown fuel motor has more goodies. Dry fitting and header design soon. The header will be made from scratch as we mate it with the turbo assembly. Plenum and charge cooler also in planning.

- Willie's Wheels is still in many pieces. Hoping to make a dent in that this weekend.

Bank account lighter today, parts getting expensive, and now x3. I must be a nut for supporting 3 classes. Oh well. :party

Super fun thread, Papi. Thanks for staying up on it. And thanks for spending all that coin on your own fun, as well as ours! Also wanted to mention that a semi-common ocean tip for reducing corrosion is to rinse with distilled water immediately after use. You can get a couple of Home Depot bug sprayers and fill them with distilled water, then pump and rinse. It's certainly not a fix-all, but it's definitely worth doing. Might be worth installing some sacrificial anodes in problematic areas too. Corrosion around throttle linkage is scurry @ 200+!
