Waist bag thoughts?

No no no, I mean what is your idea of a fanny pack? Or is it just that a motorcycle manufacturer makes it, therefore reducing its fanny pack-ness? :ride

In all fairness and disclosure, I rocked 'em when they were popular. I almost said when they were cool, but they were never really cool. :laughing

Have you thought about stashing your small items in the tail section of your bike? Even if you have to make some sort of box or tray, it might be useful.

RSV4 Factory has no ass. Why Italians even build a bike with an option to remove the seat cowl is baffling. Opened it up, and get a puzzle look.

But photo below is how I wear it. Fanny pack it is. Rock it.

I'd rather run a fanny than a tail bag, They just look funky to me. I usally just store my wallet and keys and what not under my passenger seat and keep a card and my phone in my suit liner pocket.

I've seen some that look cool. I agree some can look tacky but I like the hard shell tail bags in particular because they look like a cowl :thumbup

Its a fanny pack. My 'stich has plenty of useful pockets, so i use those.

I don't get why you don't ride with a wallet in back pocket. would work if i wasn't wearing a stich. phone in my left front jeans pocket on the street, in the chest pocket on the stich when riding.

If you're on your back you can't reach your back pocket. no kidding. if you're on your front you can't reach your front pocket. If you're on your fanny you can't reach your fanny pocket.

10 some years ago. Ford Expedition made an illegal U-turn leaving no room for escape maneuver. Hit Expedition and flipped over. Bike went one way and I landed on my back. Broke left shoulder scapula. Had rib intrusion. Couldn't move. Only thing I could move was my right arm to unfasten my helmet and reach around. Don't have any ICE on me, so I'd prefer to have some form of identification on me if needed.

That's why I only ride with my wallet and phone secure inside my jacket.

Ever see wallets and shoes go flying from some riders? And if I'm riding in canyons, I'd ratter not have to go look 40 feet away to find my phone once it got ejected.

But back to the why... Don't wear the one piece suit very often but when do, suit has no front or rear pockets.

Another option would be a lanyard around your neck with a zippered pouch - tuck it inside your riding suit, enough room for a thin phone and DL+credit cards. But if the fanny pack works rock it :thumbup. :twofinger

I prefer small camelback backpack; hydration plus room for wallet, phone, sunglasses, ballcap and snack - yet still light enough to wear and not notice it. I like a fanny pack as well, IF it can be snug up in the small of my back and not move around on me.

Agree about the desire to have key items like ID and phone on me - same thing applies to a SPOT - particularly if riding solo in the outback. It's going to do you no good if your bike ends up 50ft away from you with your phone/SPOT, but you're injured and can't get to it.

And someone mentioned Kriega - top notch riding packs worn by many Dakar riders, with an amazing fastening system that absolutely keeps the pack in place and distributes the load so you hardly notice it's there - on my wish list for a future purchase :thumbup

Looks pretty nice and useful...but sorry dude, that is a fanny pack. Embrace it.
It is pretty much as fanny pack as fanny packs get actually.

Murse FTW. :rofl
He could get a European Clutch, with a manly Lanyard...

I would if CoCoCo supported CCW..

I wear this one.
even though it's orange it does not trigger gaydar.

Do they come in pink? :teeth

Motorcycle waist bag?
You think big name like Astar, Dainese, or RS Taichi would make a fanny pack?
Fine it's a fanny pack. Lol

It's settled. :laughing

Sounds like you should buy a set of dog tags or a RoadID or some other form of identification that can be attached to your body. Personally, I put my stuff in a tank bag, tail bag, or under the seat. I don't want to have anything attached to my body that I'm not willing to land on during a high-side crash...

Not fearful of crashing. Gone through enough highsides, lowsides, and some elbow bumping on the track. Comes with part of riding. Just attempting to be a wiser and a smarter rider; slow down & cautious = fun. :afm199

But yes, you're right. ICE would be nice to carry. So fanny pack rock on for phone, wallet, camera, or any other tool.

I don't ride with my wallet in my rear pant pocket. I don't ride with my cell phone hanging/clipped into my jeans.

Due to prior experience and the "what if crash", I would like my personal belongings inside my jacket so I reach for my phone if need be if lying on my back.

I occasionally would enjoy a spirited ride through the hills. Problem is, there's no pockets in my one-piece suit, if suiting up.

I went out with this waist bag. Rode with it attached on my waist with it facing out behind my back. Holds all the necessities. And NO, I don't consider it a fanny pack.

My employee Ramzy is having fun at my expensive calling it a fanny pack. I said, "laugh it up bro. You know it's no fanny pack." I'd even sport it on the track. Second thought, not.

What do you guys think? Got another solution to the riding predicament with no pockets?
what kind of bike do you ride? the options I'm thinking of are bike specific. some work/fit better with certain bikes

Thought about keeping this a secret but since it's christmas what the hell.

Dakine BC Vest. It's a vest, a backpack, and a fanny pack in one. Rear pocket is big and reinforced to carry heavy stuff like my 17" MBP. totally concealed hydration pack, waterproof zippers, pockets for mp3 player, radio, etc. Pockets inside the vest are big for cameras, hats, etc.

There's elasticated organizers in a few of the chest pockets pretty much made to carry these: http://www.ianker.com/product/79AN13K2-BA

I have a go pro, a phone, a DSLR, and Sena so I carry three of these for touring.

+1 on the camelback, hydration and storage that won't distract you from the twisties.

If you are worried about the fanny pack being dorky, I have some bad news for you about one piece leathers...

personally I think people have too much shit to begin with if you have to have a fanny pack on top of a tank bag and tail bag, and cases then ditch some material crap unless you are traveling of course, but yeah fanny pack =1985 The Rock sure makes it look nice though lol
