Warriors 16-17 Season

The playoffs were pretty disappointing in this way, but both of these teams have premiere talent playing their asses off. I just can't embrace your reaction. If you want the best, you got the best, playing their hardest, doing incredible maneuvers and feats at a very high speed. Especially last night was exhausting. One of the best ever (LBJ) got winded from it but the Warriors just keep pushing and pushing. I love this kind of basketball, especially the smothering defensive play because it turns the whole deal into an ordeal that relates to other aspects of life. Those guys are givin it all they got and they earned it.

If you want to blame LBJ for fomenting the super team deal and the Warriors bringing it to a whole nubba lebbel, well, I get that part of it. But the play itself is stupendous. It's not like the frickin Pro Bowl or All-Star game...And, at least for these two games, the fellowship has been professional, collegial. It may get shitty by Wednesday, we'll see. When I heard that the Cavs were going to "have to get more physical" I worried about flagrants and incidents, but it seemed just hard effort. And like I said, LeBron didn't writhe on the floor and mug -- YET.

Even if it's seeing the best of the best, if one team is clearly more 'best' than the other team, then I'm not too excited.

Reminds me of when Stoner was winning by 10+ second margins leading every lap of the race. It's like, he's doing some masterful riding but :dunno

It definitely happened.

I'd still give Kyrie the nod when it comes to ball handling. :x

:laughing Awesome.

Are we really nitpicking about a non-called double dribble that had no impact on the game aside from make Lebron look human?

The amount of non-calls that guy has got in his career is exponential compared to that call. He comes barreling down the lane lowering his shoulder and 99% its a blocking call.

Simple fact is the Warriors replaced 1 dimensional Harrison Barnes with the 2nd best player in the league. They also have figured out how to eliminate the effectiveness of Tristan Thompson. Last year he was a monster on the boards.

How the Warriors use the center position is revolutionary. It's 3 guys, Javale, Zaza, and West sharing about 75% of the minutes and the rest is small death lineup with Draymond at the 5. Zaza only plays like 12 minutes but it's enough.

I'm not ;) That game was lost in the second half when GSW kept draining a set of un-defendable miracle three pointers. Talk about demoralizing! You could see it in James' body language at that point.

It happens. One day Curry is going to get old, and people are going to make him look stupid, too :cool For all the shit talk LBJ gets, let's remember that he's pushing mid thirties now. By all counts, his career has been incredible. Truly once a generation (or many generations) talent.

Recall that the Cavs were down 0-2 last year at this point, too. There's still a lot of basketball yet to be played.

Personally, I'd be more angry at the following:

JR Smith, he's disappeared.
Kevin Love's defense, it was never there.
Tristan Thompson, has he had any impact?
Shumpert, the dude brought the Kardashian Curse down upon the 'land, like they needed another one.

The games in Cleveland will be telling.

Last year took Curry being hurt, Dray being suspended for a game, Barnes being absolutely fucking HORRIBLE, and Bogut getting hurt for them to lose in 7.

Hard to see all that shit happening again.

1st game wasn't close. Warriors got a lead early and maintained it through the end. Game 2 felt like more of the same.

I have no dog in this fight. Not a Warriors fan or a Cleveland fan. Don't have a favorite team period. Don't care who wins. Just like seeing good games.

And I'm pretty much over seeing the same 2 teams in the finals for 3 years. I'm just a casual fan of basketball so I wouldn't pretend to have any kind of in depth knowledge of it all. Just after this rubber match is settled, hopefully next year shakes up different because during the last two games, I'd rather ask the drunk veteran next to me at the bar tell me a war story from 'Nam.

Game one FELT CLOSE TO ME :laughing (I still have night mares about last year)

I have a dog in this fight, but I see your point if you don't.

For me, it's like watching my kids play sports. I'm not getting tired of them succeed in dominant fashion any time soon.

If Kyrie had two monster games, and Steph had two cold games - both realistic and possible events - we could be at 0-2 right now.

I'm not celebrating until the confetti is falling and we're holding the trophy!

well the warriors did loose up 3-1 last year - 1st time ever in history

anything can happen when the king goes back to his home court

Think the League will do what it can to stretch the series? League and both teams make more $$$ the more games they play.

Only way I see this happening is with early foul calls on the Warriors. I did notice they seem to let Lebron go down the lane to avoid contact and racking up fouls. If Warriors get out to an early lead then there's no way the refs can alter the game and call more fouls.

... and frankly, there are some really stupid questions.

The more I learn about David West the more I like him.

'Don’t ever assume you know the intelligence of an athlete'

This is West’s advice to young reporters. “Don’t think that your question is too nuanced for a guy,” says West. “Don’t feel like you’ve got to dumb down a question. If you’re seeking an answer, ask the question that you think will get to that answer as opposed to, ‘I don’t think this guy is that intelligent’, so you throw softballs.” Says West: “Some guys can articulate themselves plain as Jane, so don’t assume that they can’t.”

This is what I like about the Warriors: they scanned the landscape for available players, acquired them and polish them like gems. Both West and Javale have done wonderful things for the overall scheme this year. I truly think the Dubs have the brain trust when it comes to this.

probably works both ways. The players are coming to the best team in the league. They really step it up to prove that they belong there.

Lots of Lakers, Bulls, and Spurs teams were star laden, but it was the bit/role players that stepped up when it counted in the playoffs.

As for the Warriors, I think a lot is owed to Jerry West and his ability to evaluate talent.

Here's a pic of the guy:

Please, can the Cavs win game 3? This series has sucked. Can't blame the Warriors (or Cavs I suppose), who look amazing, but for entertainment purposes, will the Cavs show some life?

The Warriors have done to the Cavs what I see better teams do to the Rockets. Force stupid shots, entice people to stand around instead of cut and be active, and in general, look like a JV team.
