Weaverville GOPatterson Mid Summer Magic Rally, 8/4-8/7

Paging SFMCjohn... looking forward to hitting some trails with ya.
I "hope" to head North on Wednesday.

haha, that's quite a quiver of dual-sport weapons
to choose from! :ride

Cool TW200 ... love that you're thinking
about bringing that ... :thumbup

I'm still hoping to leave Lower Haight on Tuesday afternoon to
try to camp on Anthony Peak on Wednesday night ... :ride

... on some of my fire-road Mendo Grand-Tour
routes I did to Weaverville last year I think I was averaging
16 mph on the KLR ... :laughing

... we'll see this year ... I have my
Weaverville room reservation ... :thumbup

John, you should bring your little bike! We had folks drive in without their bikes just to hang out. The important part is that you come.

In other news, we should be unleashing the rally forum pretty darn soon. :teeth

I can't believe I left the '88 R100GS off the list. :facepalm
She's one of my favorites! Taken me to Baja & Alaska.
Almost rode her to Weaverville last year.

Yup. My rooms reserved Fri thru Sunday eve.
My "normal" days off are Wed, Thu & Sunday.
So I've taken Fri, Sat & Monday off.

Will be bringing the camping gear in case I get that urge too.

There are (actually) many "spices" in life.
Variety is but one of them.
Albeit a good one.

Damn, now I'm considering bringing the 690 instead of the FJ....

Under that tank bra resides...
The Bumble Bee...

The blue ribbon on wind cowl was for a memorial ride I was on.
I have the peanut valve covers. Haven't installed them yet.

ha, super-sweet big tank ... :laughing

... the bumble-bee GS is the bike that helped set the standard
for true adventure-bike-range ... :thumbup

... people ask me why I ride a KLR ...
"six-gallon STOCK tank" is the answer ... :teeth

Right! Trailering the husky to Les/Lethea's then riding up and doing some DS for the weekend sounds a-okay to me!

I would just ride the 690 up there. I don't blame you for wanting to truck the tree-fiddy, though.

A little road update...:
If you are coming up the coast, take 299 over to Weaverville vs 36. It will have lots of new pavement to play on with one stop (open on the 1/2 hr) for road work for a slide vs 4 hr road closure on 36 (open noon to 1 pm).
