Wedding Venue Recommndations

We got married at the Fairmont in SF. It was spectacular! I would highly recommend it.

weddings are fucking expensive.

It's expensive because it's just a 1 day event!

My only regret is that I really_really wanted to take my motard up to the Fairmont and hoist one up in front of the hotel in my wedding suit and have pics of that. oh well.

that would have been EPIC

and weddings are expensive because girls are told they are princesses and when they get older they want a princesses wedding. (I am generalizing here)

and then throw in the fact you are in the bay area where dropping 50k on a wedding is not a big deal...

Dude, congrats!:):thumbup

Actually, she's not (and I'm not) looking for some huge ass wedding. It'll be family only and small but we don't want to feel we missed out for a few $$$. Even so, this stuff is damn expensive!

Wente.

(Great golf course too.) :thumbup

I went to a wedding there and it was great. Really beautiful setting and good food.

FWIW, I went to a company party on the Hornet, which I thought was the coolest idea ever. The company rented out the whole thing. PM me if you want any details about that.

We then rented out this entire B&B for the wedding party to stay at, it was also pretty inexpensive for the entire weekend. You could also consider them for the ceremony if need be. But there isn't as much room.

Congratulations, Brandon! That's wonderful!
I can offer my services as an ordained Minister... I've performed a few BARFers wedding ceremonies, and I'd be honored to gift that to you both! Just don't schedule it on an AFM race weekend! :)

The San Jose Rose Garden is unbelievably beautiful, and they have 2 different areas that they allow weddings at...

The Rios-Lovell Winery in Livermore is a beautiful spot for a wedding... they've got beautiful gazebos, they're up on top of a hill, with grapevines and rolling hills on all sides... it's stunning.

There's also the Little Brown Church of Sunol... it's lovely and very small-town feeling...

One of the more wildly beautiful places I'd recommend is Pigeon Point Lighthouse... with a small amount like 30 people, that would be an amazing place for a wedding...

Congratulations, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together! :)

So yeah, it was 2900 for the wedding site plus 500 security deposit. The BnB was 3575 for the entire place, for the entire weekend (fri night-sun morning).

I have to say it was an AWESOME site for a wedding (well, ours was victorian, so it made it even more awesome). Being able to have a quick ride back to another victorian mansion and hang out with the wedding party, sit, play board games, drink and just relax was really great.

mine was more along these lines, but you might want to check out Elliston Vineyards, 463 Kilkare Road Sunol, CA 94586 (925) 862-2377

BTW - contrats!!!

:drool

Tried to get my sister to go there. Something with not being able to bring in booze, cant remember. Thought it was for sale too.

Might be able to rent out half the side of Paragon Bar/Restaurant in the Claremont.

it was for sale (had toyed with the idea of buying it), but that was some time ago. have not heard it has been offered again recently. it remains my dream property though. i would put an organ in the attic. and play it after midnight.
