what bikes have you had?

I'll play!

92 Yamaha FZR600 (spent most of its time with me in pieces)
?? Kawk ZX7R (owned for an afternoon)
99 or 00 Yamaha R6 (had a pizza for a sprocket)
06 Aprilia SR50 Factory (wish I still had. will probably get another)
03 Derbi Senda tard (fun!)
02 Honda XR650L tard (wish I still had)
03 Kawk ZX6RR fighter (current)
71 Honda CL175 (current)
70 Yamaha CT1B (current)

the funkiest one was a royal enfield 350 bullet ..shifts on the right 1st gear up all the rest down (gp style) rear brake on the left ...rode it and sold it in india :teeth

I took all of the ones except the ones of me. ;)

I don't think any of them were horrid... OK, the first-gen F650 (Funduro) was horrid. The Savage was pretty crap. The SS800 was disappointing. Other than that, they all were solid, and have plusses and minuses depending on what you want out of 'em. I've been very happy with all the BMWs (save the Funduro); the modern BMWs seem to be a group of very nice bikes with very nice features. The F800ST was a fantastic mile-muncher. But the Japanese bikes were plenty fun at a much lower price point, letting me accumulate far too many bikes. :later

lots of bikes, lots of owners.. I dont have much to add. Only been riding since 05'
04 ninja 250- bought with the notion of selling. Just wanted to learn the ropes, pass the DMV. Sold it

02 Suz 750 Katana. Really nice bike. Adjustable suspension, soft power delivery. Motor was a bit rattly since it was oil/air cooled. Bike was in perfect shape, loved pretty much everything about it. Until tendonitis set it, and had to get something more upright. Sold it

05 Ducati S2R800. Love hate relationship. Sold it

06 DRZSM Current ride and just might be the best running thing Ive ever owned. Tons of fun, cheap to run.

Future? I dont know. DRZ will more than likely always be in the stable.

'87 Honda Helix (1987-1989). Insurance was cheap as hell...
HELIX198802a.jpg

'86 Kawi ZL 600 Eliminator (1989-1999). Mrs. thought the Helix was geeky, bought me this ride instead.
MO1989xxxxa.jpg

'88 Suzuki Savage 650 (1990). A very poor stopgap ride while my Eliminator was stranded (in storage) in Chicago.
THUMPER199004a.jpg

'09 Kawi Ninja 650 (2009- ). After ten years out of the saddle, I got snakebit by a Ninjette and had to get back on.

'09 Suzuki GS500F (2010- ). Mrs.'s ride, but I sneak him out as often as I can!

Sorta in order of ownership, with an occasional pic to keep you entertained, and as faulty memory allows:

'72 Honda CB350F

Kawasaki F6. Turned into an F7 with clubmans and street tires shortly after purchase. Still one of the funnest bikes I've owned.

Hodaka ACE 100. Needed something to run around 24th St. in Chula Vista. It was fun, as long as you remembered the reversed shift pattern. :wow

'76 Honda CB550F Bought with a crushed front end and frame. Never quite got it around to running before having to sell it.

Yamaha RD350. Had DG heads and Spec II pipes on it. Got it cheap, never appreciated it enough to get it running and sold it. I regret that.

'82 Kawasaki GPz550 Still have it, with 50K on the clock. It needs a serious 'refreshing' though.

'05 Kawasaki ZX636. What can I say. It's everything I lusted over back in the '80's.
10_14_2007_636_Fall_Colors_sm.jpg

'84 Kawasaki KR250. A bike I lusted for back in the '80's, but wasn't brought over to the US. Found it rotting in someone's back yard in Berkeley. Paid too much for it, and am still trying to get a few parts for it from Japan. :sad
KR250_July_09_2006.jpg

'83 Kawasaki GPz550. Yes, another. It was supposed to be a throwaway track bike. Gotta 'get around to it.'

'90-something RS125 frame with a CR80 motor. Another track bike that needs to get to the track.
RS90_sans_Fairing.jpg

'75 Honda CB400F. With BEET mag wheels. Missing a few things. Project bike.

'85 Kawasaki GPz550 Yes... A third one. It's my favorite color combo, and it was cheap due to fairing damage, so I bought it.
85_GPz550_as%20Received_01.jpg

'74? Yamaha MX400. A project in the works.

'76 Honda XL350 Another project in the works.

'86 Yamaha XT600 I needed something to deal with the 'quality' roads around here. This thing is great! It's like riding a couch. AND I don't have to worry about tearing my fairing lowers off on a gravel road. :thumbup
Edit: Added a pic!

Been only riding for a couple of years:

1. 2009 Ninja 250 (sold) - small, lithe and fun, but definitely wish it had a bit more power.
2. 1999 VFR800 (for sale) - way the hell too large for the little bit of local street commuting I've been doing, still a great bike for anyone who does highway riding or touring - I especially can't believe how far the new VFR is from it.

Next. Maybe a Hypermotard.
