What ya playing?

I definitely hit up the hot springs. At least all that showed up on the map as question marks in my path of play. And picked up the special moves.

So you're up to this level of play then? :teeth

I got taken out by enemy kunai like 3 times before I even realized they could throw them. Didn't see them at all on Easy :laughing

I haven't had much time to play anything but Donkey Kong is my typical jam when I get time. I'm a previous Twin Galaxies world record holder (MAME no hammer challenge). I actually learned it from not only the arcade back in the day but I was also worked for Atari to write the original IBM PC port. Fun fact, they tried to screw us on money, released a total POS product that flopped, and I still have our good source code printouts on greenbar, disks, and gameplay video tape from Nintendo Japan in a box in my garage. :).

PRO TIP: if I ever ask you to play for money... walk the other way :rofl

Other current games are Skyrim (even though solved all major quests, now roaming and doing all the minor stuff) and having a fun flashback playing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 & 2. Those last ones are prolly the best Diablo-like releases ever on a console :thumbup

GF just got a NES emulator to hook up. First conversation was about bets on who would get farther in Mario3... :laughing

Ghost of Tsushima on Hard is definitely giving me some ego hits... I'm not tempted at all to go Lethal

I spent 40 min and nearly chucked my controller out the window trying to beat the Tengu Demon on Hard. Couldn't do it.

Also recently finished FF7 Remake (normal / hard)
Last of Us 2 on Hard
Jedi Fallen Order on Normal. This game is shitty, don't pick it up.

How is that even a bet? All you gotta do is warp whistle to the end of the game in like 5-10 minutes.

Who gets further in Mario 1 or 2, now that's a decent bet.

It's the rubber match.

She got me on 1 and I destroyed her on 2...

I hate that game

The stepkid and her spouse are big into ACNH. For me, parlor games, but don't have much time for it.

I got one. It's fun, the problem is there just aren't that many big games on it. Most games built for VR are pretty small in scope, indy feeling games. There are some big name games on VR, but they are ports of standard games and porting like that doesn't always work that well.

Alyx is quite good, easily the best VR experience, looking forward to more games with that scope.

If you do get VR, avoid Oculus. Facebook recently announced that they are going back on a lot of promises they made regarding it in terms of privacy. (so much so that I honestly would not be surprised to see a class action lawsuit against them.)

Lately, I've been digging into RPGs. Pillars of Eternity, as well as Deadfire are good fun. Also digging into Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 prepping a bit for the new one.

Waiting for a Steam Sale to pick up Borderlands 3. I tend to like getting them when they finish up the DLCs and all of that, which apparently is about now.

Good heads up, thanks. In case it wasn't obvious, I am strongly hostile towards the surveillance state, so a Social Media driven VR is right out, lol.

That means HTC Vive or a Valve Index, since Sony's equipment doesn't seem super robust.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

I just started her story arc on hard... not looking forward to that battle. She kicked my ass on easy :facepalm

There are a few others, and within Valve/HTC area you can mix and match parts to some extent. Pimax only makes headsets, but the wider viewing angle for their headsets are very good and you can mix and match, say, the very good controllers and motion trackers from the Index. The elephant in the room is price, going with that solution would be about 1200 dollars, while the Full Index solution is 1000, and HTCs cosmos pro is 900. depending on how into VR you are there are the inside looking out solutions, where tracking is done from the headset, that are less expensive overall.

Please tell me you're just tuggin my chain?

If you aren't, trust me, you will spend at least an hour if not more just running around looking at the beautiful world that was created in the game. I think I spent a good hour taking photos alone.

Anywayz, sorry if you aren't. I promise that will be the only one from me.

Most recent games Ive played are BOTW, Smash, Astroneer, and KSP. But with the increased "staying at home" in recent months, Ive been gaming less.

Just started original last of us.

With the new one out I found it for $10.

Not sure if it's my type of game, but it's game of the year for a reason so worth a play.

Anyone pick up Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 yet? Debating on getting it but I only have a cheap basic HOTAS setup. Also, I don't see any helicopters in it. I'd love to get a full pedal setup and play some flight sims.

COD on Master Race...

I'll read through the thread for new game ideas, could use some.
