Whats the Best 600cc bike?

You should rent a "600" for two days and ride in traffic and on 101 and all the roads you mostly ride. It might cost $400 but I bet you'll save $4k-$9k.
Of the options mentioned I'd go with the Bandit but only cuz the Vstrom 650 would be found out as a cheater and there would be a 20 page post about he whole thing.

I personally prefer Suzukis because you get the most bang-for-buck as far as price point goes. They're not the most glamorous bikes out there but they're rock-solid reliable and parts are everywhere because they are shared with every other bike they make.

That said, the Daytona 675 is the best looking bike in existence.

ER-6N - hard to find

Anyone know why this bike is so hard to find.
There are no more than one ad for one on craigslist on any given time. Isn't it just a newer version of the SV650 (which is considered pretty good)?

I have a 2009 zx-6r and it's nice. Unless you're a pro racer you're not going to be able to ride any of the supersports to a level that would distinguish one from the other. Get the one that you're comfortable on, that appeals to you most, and that you can afford.

Opinions vary but I would rather get a GSXR750 for a few hundred more than its' big 4 brand 600 counterparts, the same price as a Daytona 675, or thousands less than a Ducati 848 if I was looking. The 750 spanked all of those bikes btw.

Strictly RR 600 class models? My vote leans towards a 636 in terms of overall value.

I love my Street Triple, or a Daytona if you like fairings.

Honestly, if you're asking "which is best", you probably won't appreciate the differences between the 600 supersports that you seem to be asking about. Pick one that looks good to you and ride it.

If you'd rather not crash it, (a) take a class, whether a LEO-taught civilian class or MSF ERC, and (b) find a mentor who can help you ramp up your skills slowly and methodically.

For your purposes, they are all the same. Each of the four Japanese manufacturers has something that they try to emphasize as setting them art from the others (Honda tries to be street-friendly and practical, Yamaha tries to be track-friendly and impractical, Suzuki tends to market toward the squid set, and kawasaki came up with a cool name for a motorcycle 25 years ago, and is still trying to trade on that, :twofinger) but all of them have been making motorcycles for so long that they've essentially perfected the art and none of them have any real flaws. As someone else said, at the skill level of an ordinary mortal such as yourself, the differences are minimal. Go with what you think looks cool.

Of course, why buy a 600 for commuting? They're so damned uncomfortable, their bars are really poor for low-speed control, and the posture is really bad for visibility.

It would be mainly for commuting purposes and also the occasional twisties.
I am a fairly short rider 5ft 4 and also into the sick looks of bikes.
Dunno 'bout sic lookz, but the FZ6 iz 'bout the best commuter, and it can rock the twisties.

Thanks for the replies guys, ill just have to test them out as well as research the pros and cons!:thumbup
