Where do you mount your GoPro??

Nice.

Looks perf!! Thanks :thumbup

Yes, it looks tidy, but how is it any different than the assortment of mounting blocks that come with the camera?

This mount had the fewest number of joints of the various options I could find for a chin mount. It only pivots in one axis so you don’t have to be concerned with the camera getting out of alignment during the ride.

Initially I thought I’d have to go with something like below but didn’t want to deal with that many joints.

I didn't get a ride tech moto because using it makes the jhook sit proud of the helmet and anytime you set your helmet down you need to make sure the helmet weight doesn't just ride on it, I am sure you can mount it higher so it clears but not possible for the rf1400

GoPro sells straight connectors in various kits and of course there are knockoffs everywhere now. (Most connectors rotate 90deg.) They are very useful.

That chin mount seems to have a little notch under the tape to follow the contour of the helmet. That's a good idea. You could easily replicate it on a regular mount by taking the tape off, dremeling, and applying new tape.

I've used the stick-on mounts for years, never an issue. Needing a threaded hole limits placement a lot.

Are there ones that come with safety wire? Don’t want it coming off, especially during a track day.

I made a chin mount with Sugru to avoid this issue.

No, but a lanyard can serve the same purpose.

Got a new Hero10... can't even open the damn thing to charge it. :afm199

Any 10 year olds around? :laughing

I shared this elsewhere on barf but I figured this thread might appreciate it too. I picked up one of these "Dango Design Gripper Mount - Universal Clamp Mount"s earlier this year and really like it. It's definitely geared more towards dirt helmets but I've fitted it on my LS2 and Shoei 'race' lids just fine, using it on the road, and at Thunderhill/Laguna

The clamp spring is stronger than I thought it would be and the lanyard is nice and sturdy. I thread my chin strap through the lanyard so there's a secondary catch if, somehow, the clamp loses its grip. But I can (have, actually) easily pick up the helmet by the end of clip, wave it around, and feel confident that the helmet won't slip out (though it would need to be repositioned from sliding/twisting). The reason I say it's more for dirt lids is because (aside from being that that's how it's marketed :laughing) most of my street lids have chin curtains and the clamp holds the curtain against the chin section, keeping it from preventing wind from entering - a win in hot weather, loss for noise/cold weather.

It's not cheap, at $45... but it feels very well built. No creaking, no flexing, and looks really cool in person.

Bonus, for dirt/mountain biking, Django also sells a 2100 lumen light that fits on the mount, with a remote battery.

I could see the light + mount being a pretty killer combo for having a headlight that's always facing where the rider's looking, with 3hr runtime on high

Thanks for posting that link.:thumbup
I pulled the trigger and ordered one last night. I've been looking for something exactly like this.

Awesome! You should let us know how you like it once you've tried it out for a bit.

I've only had the chance to use mine a couple times but I have yet to have any complaints. It's a bit bulkier than a permanent sticky mount, but not having an uggo piece of plastic permanently attached to my lid worth it. especially since half my helmet don't even have a good spot to put it.

Here's the only clip I have uploaded while using it. I need to get out and ride some more! EDIT: In fact, I think this is from that THill West event that I met you at!

Figuring this out.

Got the front nailed. On windshield. It is stout so hopefully shots will be stable.

Back on fender with extension to get above rack.

Handlebar clamp for head shots.. My previous thought would not work.

Purchased a couple accessories... this is going to be a money pit :laughing

There are not many more humbling experiences than finding yourself on the cutting room floor.....and by your own hand.:laughing
Enjoy wading through those droning hours of content. With all those cameras you are going to have a lot of material to peruse.

Hear you there. Luckily I will have some help.

Unluckily I am not up to speed on Premiere. :(
So learning will slow me down even more.. months and months of humbling moments. At least I will be looking at motorcycles.
