Where do you mount your GoPro??

Did my first run with the GoPro mounted on my windshield.

Worked out well. Pic Below.

Now working on setting up the GoPro for proper filming.
Shot standard mode - 4k / 60 frames per second / linear / horizontal leveling / 5000 Kelvin / Smooth. Video looked good. Battery life was not great so if not doing slow motion probably go 30 FPS to help. More experimenting to do.

This helped with setting up the camera:

You can record with GoPros while it's connected to a power bank (external cell-phone battery). While recording, the GoPro uses external power. When not recording, the battery charges the GoPro. I've bought new doors for some of my GoPros that have a hole for the cable. A 5000mAh Anker battery lasts forever and allows you to actually fill up a good-sized SD card.

Thanks Robert.

One of the guys on our ride team just mentioned that and dropped the links to do that or connect to the bike battery system. Since I will have at least two I am not sure. Cabling etc.

Man, shooting 4k-60 or even 4k-30 is going to chew through a TON of storage. At that res/fps it'll eat about 1GB every 1-2 minutes.

Battery would see a mild jump going to 30fps OR moving down to 2k

You could always run an aux power cord to the GoPro. I do that with mine since my charger has 2 outputs; one for phone one for camera. No battery limit that way, only storage.

Can't move down to 2K per the Tech dude. Has to be at least 4K so that is not an option. Yes... going to be chewing up GB's! 30FPS is a for sure except for a few specific places.

Thanks Robert.

A USB Hub that connects to the bike battery would be easy. But most of them are made so cheaply that they barely work and fail often. USB charging isn't just stupid 5V power any more. New devices like a modern GoPro expect really fancy power delivery. But if you can find one made by a reputable company with good reviews, that's probably your best bet. Then you just need a few longer USB C cables and some zipties.

Yup! Been using one of these for about 3 years now - good charge rate even while running GPS on max brightness.. It was only about 5 years ago that it was hard to find a phone charger that could add/maintain charge while using that kind of power. I used to drain my phone, while plugged in, when running gps in daylight (it would just hold charge at night with low brightness)

I installedone of these SAE adapters then plugged in the charger. All the wiring is hiding behind the headlight, where the 2 designated aux power outputs live on many modern bikes. I then plug my phone into it and, if necessary, another line to either my gopro or the sena (being careful not to move too far and yank the cord)

You can see it on the bar, here. I need to clean it up some more. It's held on by zipties. Super easy to get to and the rubber cap keeps water out pretty well. In the rare case that I need to use it in the rain, I cover it and my phone with a ziplock bag.

Hopefully this helps!

I noticed this camera set up last week whilst in SEKI... I assume that the advantage of the pole extending off the front of the bike is for the a camera to be mounted facing backwards facing the rider for a larger field of view.
