WTF should frame sliders move?

Nothing to really worry about. Does nothing to the bike. Actually what you have is the conservative way of putting sliders on. Just that it won't do "much" if shit happens. I am sure they dealership charged you for the bracket extender as well. I don't think any dealership would drill a hole in the fairing. Something you will have to do yourself.

This topic has been covered numberous times on this forum as well as others. Step by step procedure on how to do it, what you need. Just do a search

Ok guys so should I go ahead and remove my fairing and tighten it or should I just not worry about it?

Take it to the dealer, if you're not confident enough to remove the fairing yourself (its just a bunch of screws and clips usually, and installation is the opposite of removal) then you probably shouldn't touch it.

The factory bolt is not long enough to have a frame slider added to it... Just like on my R6.
go get a longer 10mm alen screw. You'll be ok.

Just take it back to the stealership when they open and tell them it's loose. They should tighten it for you.

Then search and read up on differnt slider types. You will find the ones you have are not the best protection you can buy but will help at low to no speed spills.

Try taking it off and use a locking type washer on the bracket see if that stops it from moving!:thumbup
Or also what Evol-E said!!

mine did that at first too--but it was my fault since i installed them.

You're going to have to remove the fairing, get a socket/wrench and tighten that mother back up. If you have a decent tool set, and own a torque wrench... check your instruction manual for the proper torque setting and have at it.

ps. that nut is what holds that side of your engine to the frame... so beware.

bro, you paid for the dealer installation, so not to worry, they'll take care of it. Just give em a call in the morning and tell the service guy you have a loose slider and that you want the tech guy to look at it this morning. For them, it's a piece of cake, a few minutes, and you'll be on your way.

They want you happy, so they'll put one of their best on the problem. Trust me, they Want your business.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that those are R&G frame sliders. Mine did not fit on the left side because the offsetting bracket interferes with the olive-painted engine subframe bracket. So I left it off :laughing

If that is the problem on your bike as well, you'll have to take it off and clearance the bracket in the radiused corner before reinstalling. I would just leave the fairings off but the damn stock turn signals are flush mounted to the middle fairing... hrm, maybe it's streetfighter time...
