Please note the offending vehicle, folks. Same theme, over and over. Stay away from eco-boxes - big danger. :|

I'd like to point out that's a Scion. Not designed or marketed as environmentally friendly (although it's not horrible).

Go the ER, get documentation of injuries, stop talking about it here, then go get a
Lawyer!

Next time, stay flat on your back till you see a check with 7 significant figures, to the left of the decimal point, that is....

Get out of the road, and lay down until the paramedics get there.

Wow man, glad you're alright. That could have been much worse had you not come off the bike the way you did. You should in fact buy a lottery ticket!!!!

PS, I hope you're able to get in a hot tub or just take a hot bath. You're gonna feel it tomorrow.. :(

Watching your 6 is well and good, but if you're in the middle of the lane, there's nowhere to go. I always offset myself, usually to the left of the lane (unless I'm in the left lane). That has two bennies - it increases my ability to see around the car in front, and if I see something bad coming up behind me, I can immediately vamoose. I've used that escape route.

Looks like a pisser of a hit - glad you're OK. :(

Five things:

1. I'm so glad you were not seriously injured.
2. Did the SUV in front of you get a ticket for a taillight that was out?
3. Go to the ER - get your back checked out. Get a complete physical.
4. I've never sued anyone in my life - but, litigation to right a wrong needs to be pursued. You were wronged. Nice lady or not.
5. What new bike are you going to get? I'd like to see you on a Ducati MTS 1200s.

Keep us posted.

Damn, glad you okay..
Hit the hot tub first thing. You will be sore tomorrow.
Who yo betting on the superbowl, want to follow your lead.

I've seen it posted here already, but I have to repeat my reaction.

Holy shit.

The *pop* was sudden and started me.

Fuck.

Well, my back still hurts and i will probably go to the hospital tomorrow morning first thing! now that i come to think of it, those 2 seconds felt like 2 min.s when i went "oh sh**" :) well, tomorrow is another nice day for a ride, to all of you out there, just be careful and make the best of it while you still can :)

you need to go tonight. Worst case scenario is you have a slipped disk, and or internal bleeding (extreme case). Go tonight for peace of mind and also in case there's something more serious then what meets the eye.

DAMN! Glad you're okay op! Don't have much else to say other than what's been stated. THANK YOU for posting the video. I think I speak for everyone when I say that it gives a huge reality check as well as an up close and personal educational display of essentially everything we need to keep our eyes out for as riders.

should have named it gon in 3 seconds. this Is why I ALWAYS split to the front. Matter of fact the next time some cager whines about lane splitting show them this.

Holy shit dude. That is a creepy video. I am also amazed you a) didn't get sandwiched and b) managed to stay standing the whole time. You must be a tall fucker.

Anyway, GET A LAWYER. If you want a recommendation, my buddy is working with a guy who's also judge (aka, he can pull in favors from the DA's) who is helping him with an accident when he got t-boned by a guy running a red. Keep records and document EVERYTHING...every doctor's visit, get the paramedics' report, etc. Don't worry about your payments, her insurance should take care of everything and a lawyer will make sure of that.

Definitely go get checked out. I would highly recommend seeing a chiropractor. That type of pain will likely be delayed and you're going to wake up very sore either tomorrow or the next day. A few visits over the course of 2 months will go a long way. If you insurance or benefits doesn't cover that, hers will.

I'm glad you okay, man. Tough break, but it could've been way worse.

Dude! That video was chilling to the bone. I am amazed you ended up walking away and upright during the whole thing.

GET TO THE HOSPITAL NOW! DO NOT WAIT! Even if you have no intention of suing her, you still need to get checked out.

At the very least, it will legitimize your case. If two weeks down the road you are still in pain (very possible) then you will start treatment.

Keep us posted about your injuries (hopefully lack of) in the future.

As soon as the hospital shindig is over, crack open a beer, do some shots, smoke two joints and celebrate your chance to live-to-ride for years to come!

Way to cheat death, man!

Your bike is TOAST! It had a fucking car sitting on top of it! Even though I felt sorry for the nice lady, you really need to be made whole in bike replacement, medical, and pain and suffering for what you just experienced and what you're about to experience.

Nobody is going to GIVE YOU anything, it's the way of the insurance world. You really need to alter your tune and plan on being aggressive with this case. You have to, you deserve it.

I hope you feel better soon 'cuz no doubt, you gotta be feeling the pain today and DEFINITELY, go see your personal physician asap or hit the ER. It's common if you're up and walking but I don't understand why people refuse or delay medical treatment/exam after such a thing. The body goes into overdrive in such an instance and masks injury.

When I had my 2 deer get-off, I had someone get me since I didn't want to ride in an amberlambs but I knew I needed medical attention so we went straight to the ER. It was a smart thing afterall.

Best of luck!

That poor lady, i thought she was going to have a heart attack! well, accidents happen, i don't have any intentions of suing anybody or anything, i actually felt sorry for the lady! i just want to get a new one so i can keep riding. (not on 19th. ave. though)

I ain't bashing senior citizens and got alot of respect for them. But I do know that due to their age & driving record many of them don't want to deal w/insurance claims for auto accidents and will pay you straight cash for repairs after you get the estimate. I'm not sure about the medical part though.

Assuming (and this may be assuming a great deal) that insurance does what it's supposed to do (OP's and asspackin' granny's), what sort of lawsuit do you all envision coming from this? (For those among you who foresee an actual suit)

I'm not trying to get my troll on, and I'm not asking for fringe-outlying-what-ifs. I'm curious what kind of legal action you think happens after a (let's face it) run-of-the-mill rear-ender.

I guess maybe the short answer is that a lawyer helps make sure the insurance companies do in fact do what they're s'posed to. An attorney makes sure the non-property (medical etc.) aspects are handled. But beyond that? Am I missing something that turns this into a tort goldmine payout-vanganza for the OP? :dunno
