Pacific Track Time Debuts All-New Timing System

Cool, sounds like a good deal to me for PTT customers:)

I like how you get your own account thats a cool feature and I'm sure some riders will appreciate that security, I can see the excuses already lol " I swear I ran 1:58, I just forgot my password!" :laughing. I remember when Mr. Keane was testing the system out at Reno Fernely and we all got the stickers on our helmets, it worked flawlessly from what I recall. I'm sure PTT is going to have great results with it.

Props to PTT and RFID Titan Timing System! Now all we need is personal umbrella girls for all the riders.

Hope everyone is having a great day at Thunderhill. Wish I was there.

+1 on the umbrella girls. :thumbup

No worries man, I thought that other group rating system was a little strange too. I just wanted to make sure you were not confusing Ptt with Track Crafters witch is now Doug Chandler something or other.

I am just a tire guy that works with PTT as well as other Track day companies. There are so many these days that it is hard to keep track of who's who! Not to long ago you were lucky to find a few track days a year now there is one almost every day of the week.

Witch bike is that in your avitar? Looks like a duck but maybe I'm just seeing red!

Keep'er shiny side up!

Pat

thats a Triumph Daytona 675!!! I think

Very true, unfortunately doing 1:54 in most classes doesn't get you anywhere near the podium, Especially when you have people like Michael and Cory dipping into the 1:49's:hail

there is no heavy weight twins class. it might be open twins that you are looking for and the cut off time is a 2:13 at thill.

Michael E.,

Does the system employs some sort of lap filter as it seems that not all of my laps was captured?

I doubt there is any kind of filter but like everything else, it will continue to get better and better as time goes by. Overall though the system I feel has streamlined all the mundane crap of trackdays. See you at the next trackday :ride

There are no filters. My understanding is that the system was originally designed to be used with 2 RFID tags, one attached to each side of the motorcycle. To meet the needs of its customers not wanting tags stuck on their motorcycles and to simplify registration PTT wanted the system to use only one tag per rider affixed to the helmet. The software and antennas are currently being tested and modified to meet these needs. The system developer has been at all our track days since the system introduction monitoring, testing and updating the system.

Pacific Track Time is the first track day company to offer this system. Once the system is perfected times for all of your laps will be available. PTT is also working on a "Ride-Through" registration and tech. Once you are signed up there will be no more standing in line. Just ride your bike through tech inspection and the RFID system will handle your registration check-in at the same time.

Ride through check-in is something to look forward to.

It was disappointing to see so many laps failed to registered in the system but I do understand the system is in the process of fine-tuning. Consider the size and longevity of the tag, I wouldn't mind having 2 of them on the fairing for better pickup.

At the end of the day, this is a great step forward. I look forward to use my AMB as a paper weight soon.

Thanks for your comments. As the system is a work in process we value everyone's input.

The system only records complete laps. Your out and in laps are not timed because we currently do not have any antennas in the hot pit. Each session two of your laps are not being timed and may account for some of the discrepancy in recorded laps.

Yeah, they sure didnt have it working at Thill on Monday. I was pretty bummed about that! Downgrade.
