How many riders switched to LED headlights from halogen?

my experience with the '24 bmw r1250gs adventure (takes a breath) is that the lighting is so good you forget it's night and you end up riding quicker than you should...because it's still night...but it is pretty sweet :teeth
 
I’ve read about BMW’s system. Pretty cool if it works as advertised.

Not sure, but I think the Tucker was the first vehicle to have such a system. The center headlight was supposed to steer with the front wheels.

I don't understand where virtue signaling plays a part. My comment was about public lambasting instead of debating the subject matter at hand; calling them incorrect and claiming victory. It's a discussion board for the benefit of all. IMO.

But when an opinionated poster says there are disadvantages, he's not wrong. When he says he would never put them on his own vehicle, he's also not wrong. If he says you shouldn't either, "Well, that's just your opinion, man."

Good point. That being said, I'm in the camp that prefers LED on my own vehicles and NOT on others. I have blue light blocking glasses I'll wear at night some times In heavy traffic. Other drivers LED's can give some light night time spotting for me, at times.

I have a car that will point the headlights into the turn. It's one of those things I thought was too much, why do you need those. Holy crap they are awesome. I have a brand new car that throws out more light, and farther down the road, but I wish it turned the headlights into the turn.

I want to see the results of one of the plug and play adaptive headlights before investing in one.
 
I posted on a couple HD forums asking if anyone had experience with the adaptive headlights. Someone told me if the driving lights didn't give me enough light then it was too dark to ride. :laughing

I'm not sure I can talk myself out of buying one.

Kevin, I mentioned the focal length because IT IS THE REASON that it is not physically possible to make an LED replacement that has the same beam pattern as the halogen.

Hold on, where is the physical impossibility with this? Why would it be impossible to put an LED emitter at the same focal point that a halogen light occupied? Not only do I see this as a possibility, but an eminently easy engineering task.
 
This is why LED’s don’t work properly in halogen housings. In short, the way they emit light is different.
