I am pro wrist straps and braces. Wrists are so fragile and that intense biting pain sucks.
Had a good couple of rides over the weekend. Leg offers no pain while doing so although my cheeks get a bit tired from smiling so much.
Just did my first "Physical Training Session" to take the fitness up a level. To start that it was getting down a level as in getting on the floor. A true test of being![]()
Its worth getting it checked out, i had a wrist injury from dropping my bike and I feel like it never fully healed.don't tell anyone, but if someone shakes my hand the wrong way right now they can make me cry. like my father in law did last week![]()
guess i smacked my hand pretty good 2.5 weeks ago during the lowside and bruised the cartilage and tendons. today i am learning about the tfcc. i am debating ordering a 'wrist widget' brace that would help immobilize things but i think i am past that point. it's $30 for a strap...just to prevent it from moving the wrong way...it only hurts when my right hand twists to the outside / ulnar side under load, which is during heavy braking...i've already adjusted my riding and i can still ride the adv bike without pain and am taking a break from the sport bike until the bruising and pain is gone
i am still lifting weights... i won't add more weight to the bar until after this thing is behind me but i'm only lifting 75lbs including the bar so i think it's fine. if keep my wrist in line there isn't pain
you are a monster!Thank Berto. A long way to go from my perspective.
Gaining muscle at 68 seems near impossible, but I know I am as I am getting stronger.
35 weeks straight of at least 4 days a week shows in my 24hr app.
I went in to do work with the Trainer today after a check in with the PT women yesterday. The Gym did not tell the man that the Training room would be in use for a company meeting so at 11 when I got there it was a no go as there is not a good spot to do floor work and stretching stuff. Oh well. I was planning on an upper body session after anyway and just lit that up instead. 2 solid hours. Finished at 1pm and still feeling the pump.
Really solid bench press session with a surprise 10 reps at 250 that sort of blew me away. Topped it with a solid triple at 280 and then a solid rep at 290... with a fail on rep 2.
Still making progress... still excited to be getting better and healthier.
Starting a no alcohol period to see how that affects things. Hopefully lose a little weight.
BROMANCE.Saw Bud last weekend and he looked like what I want to look like at his age...Getting pretty darn trim and beefy. Impressive in such short period of time. Well done so far Bud!

Appreciate the feedback; I just scheduled a visit with my new doctor and will bring it up with himIts worth getting it checked out, i had a wrist injury from dropping my bike and I feel like it never fully healed.

It's gonna blow you away. Are you using creatine regularly? What's in your morning "shake"?Starting a no alcohol period to see how that affects things. Hopefully lose a little weight.
My body loves the cycling. Except the saddle contact zones. I am really looking forward to getting this sorted! I get home on Sunday and will be out on the bike by Tuesday to test things out with your saddle.3000mi will fly by with a comfy saddle
Yes I am using creatine. It's gonna blow you away. Are you using creatine regularly? What's in your morning "shake"?

Morning routine:
Coffee at about 6:45 to 8.
Flavonol cocoa with the creatine after but waiting till I hit 16 hours. Then a protein drink, a banana and walnuts or the protein drink with sausage and eggs.

I made a New Year’s resolution at the beginning of 2025 to use the stairs up to my 6th floor apartment, instead of the elevator, which I’ve actually managed to keep.
my smartphone keeps track of my daily “flights” of stairs climbed—and ona good day it’s up above 100 flights (a benefit of living in a city with hills and lots of pedestrian stairs). I mostly do the stairs two at a time, which I guess is close to 12” …
fun following your updates. I remember how painful the stairs were when I started.
(also the no-alcohol thing.)
