actually, the motor in Gabe's foto is of a CB/L175 [more upright] than 160 mill

ah, v g - right you are, Sir!

geu-u-wine Honda retro replicas, such as the 1 pictured in your #147 ,
have popped up 2 or 3 times in last 35 years - yours is the most recent run,
vintage 2005-ish

prettty much based on the foto in #145 , plus of course the 60s GP multi- screamers -

You make this rebuild seem so easy! I wish I had all your knowledge and tricks and tools so I could do all that stuff too!

nice poster! yes, that is more what i envisioned, though the replica was a whole of 4,000 less in RPM than the original. only 14,000 revs at redline as opposed to the 18,000 rpm original with a single cylinder. what a marvel.

Thanks! The bulk of it is really time and patience.

It's so funny you say that; I'm writing an article about this exact thing right now - I'll let you know when it's available. :thumbup

You can probably do much more than you think. Hell, when I started working on my bikes I had a few tools in a plastic shopping bag and I worked in the gutter between parked cars. My setup isn't a whole lot better these days.

Anyway, stay tuned...:eboy

huge 60s GP multis poster was available briefly thru Soup site,
direct from Honda Collection Hall gift shop - no longer available thru him, AFAIK -
dunno about getting it thru Honda Japan......

Well, if you happen to have one, I have access to a large format high quality scanner. We could probably reproduce it... (i didn't look at it closely to see if there was a copyright on it, so excuse this post if there is!)

while unsuccessfully searching for that 60s GP multis poster on Honda Collection Hall site,
I stumbled across this foto of street & racing CR110 Cub models -

the 50cc CR110's street tank exists between the earlier 125 Benly CB92 & later CL160 -
it's EZ to see now, eh?

also, notice the beefy trellis frame - these are [limited] production machines from early 1960s.....

many love the plethora of svelte Italian singles from the same period, myself included -
however, to my eyes the CR110s & CB/CR93s seen above remain among the best in M/C styling

twitch,

tho this may seem like a TJ,
we're closely following the aesthetics of yer new ride -

the mechanical bits look to be well addressed

TJ all you want, I love seeing those bikes!

I was out of town for the last week so no work got done :|

While I was away the landlord replaced our carpet with wood flooring so my entire house is crammed into the kitchen and everything is covered in saw dust. Hopefully I can get things in shape here so I can get back to building.

A ton of parts arrived while I was away...seals, rebuild kits, rim, grips, decals, tank sealing kit...

And with another 2 weeks until my next semester I'm ready to kick it into overdrive. :teeth

ooooh - lacey!

like either of these?

OK, yet another TJ -

Gabe, the CW website certainly sux since you [&/or Edwards?] left......

Back to work

New parts have arrived. Check out the package I got from Thailand! Unfortunately it contained a gasket set with 2 broken gaskets.

Today's accomplishments:

Cleaned rust off of the rim I just received, then prepped both rims for paint. I shot them with 2 coats of clear wheel paint to prevent further rusting.

Prepped gasket surfaces.
