2 Piece Suits on Amazon

Find some P103 and they zip together. Whala two piece:thumbup

Ok, ,now I am lost. I understand how taking two pieces with a zipper make a two piece suit...but you only sent a link to a jacket...So, what would I attach it to?

Is that the black and red version of the t mobile one piece? Maybe Verizon is making leathers now...

My opinion: Never buy cheap/shitty MC gear. It's what protects you. You can get great high quality gear second hand which is way better than cheap new stuff. You can also get expensive high quality MC gear which maybe better still (at least you can pick exacty what you want).

I'd recommend check out the BARF classified threads or other second hand purchase sites, but buy good condition quality stuff.

Yeah, that is what I have been doing. I prefer to get good stuff...this was just more of "the time being," and unfortunately, looking at the BARF Classifieds, Craigslist, Helimot Sale, among other venues, has turned up nuttin. But, definitely, appreciate the input about the shitty gear...

The amazon stuff, I was more curious if anyone knew anything about it...and since it doesn't seem they do, except for 1 person, I am definitely just going to pass.

Look for close out sales at cycle gear and motorcycle superstore too. They often have name brands cheap.

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. You pay for what you get. How much is your skin worth?

I own one of these.
It's probably a one crash suit, but I've never had problems with it.
If you are on a budget, it's not a bad route to go.

In my Highway 1 cliff get off, both arm-pits blew out, about 1.5" on one side and 2" on the other, but the suit took no other damage. Not even a scratch.

I think where the real cost cutting is in the armor, the foam insert for the back is completely insufficient, but you need to by a back protector even for the high end suits.

The Jackets4Bikes armor is better than you would think.
I bought mine when they were putting in the double density foam armor, and the back armor was still drastically better than the packing foam they used in Frank Thomas suits, and still use on Bilt and Sedici.

Seriously, Cycle Gear, what the hell are you thinking putting that crap in the back?

Anyway, to the best of my knowledge Jackets4Bikes is now using CE approved armor.

Really, without trying it on, you can't be assured of comfort or even safety.

Especially not safety. Who's to say that the seams won't rip apart and expose your nice skin to the asphalt in a crash. Fit tells you nothing about safety.

You're lucky that your fall didn't stress other seams and open up and leave your skin exposed to the asphalt. That fact that the arm pits blew out just from tugging on the seam (I'm sure you didn't slide along on your armpits) says a lot about the quality (or lack of) of the suit.

And I'd call it a zero crash suit. If it's going to come apart that easily, I sure as shit wouldn't want to depend on it when I really needed it.

Folks........quality gear is the most important purchase you'll ever make for your motorcycling. Not a fancy bike, not slick brake upgrades, not expensive, noisy exhaust systems, not Power Commanders, etc. None of that is as important as your gear.

I have to agree with this assessment. I was almost going to try one of the Amazon suits for runs to the grocery, since my old two piece needs zipper work and my waist was smaller when I bought it. But, hearing the ease that this suit comes apart, I will get the old AGV repaired.

Anyone remember when the MotoGP suits were "exploding" on first get off? And they weren't that cheap.

+1
and clutchslip, Indeed $$$ isn't a guarantee of quality, but usually quality does cost $$$. Quality is what you're after however.

I do appreciate everyone's input. I am thinking that I am just going to go with a reliable name/ brand and hope I can find something in my size. After looking at all the sizing charts for the various companies, and have just gotten more confused. Guess, it is time to start trying on stuff!

Yea, sometimes I just buy at the local brick and mortar store. Yes, you can often find it cheaper on the interet. But, given that fit is so important to some things (gloves, suits, boots, etc.), I'd rather pay more to go there and try on a bunch of different sizes, even two or three in the same size, and make sure that it fits. The extra money is usually well spent by ending up with a proper fitting bit of gear.

^^^ I'm a fan of aerostich for commuting / touring duty, and Helimot for track duty. I have also previously used Alpinestars for track duty and Rukka for commuting/touring duty. for boots, I've gone with Daytona for commuting/touring and alpinestars for track.

Leather Helimot or Zooni. I would trust a crashed Helimot or Zooni suit before I will ever buy Allen Ness, A*, Teknic, Berik, Revit,Dainese, suit again

SirS, What do you typically ride in now?

In the past, my commuting was helmet, riding jacket, gloves, jeans and boots. Usually, for weekend "duty" it was, helmet, riding jacket, gloves, jeans, overpants and boots.

I say in the past, because I need to pay my reg., and am about to start some work on my bike.,

what is your size. I have a crashed rashed Ness suit you can have. Needs repair but was a $1400 suit 4 weeks ago

The seam wasn't just "tugged on," I was bucked off of the bike, did a full midair flip, and landed flat on my back, with my arms stretched out as outriggers to break the fall. I put the suit under a stress that it's not used to (or designed to withstand). I could have blown out the same seam on any suit.

Secondarily, if you don't own the suit, or have ever seen the suit, you do not have real world experience with it, so your statement that it is a "no crash suit" is based on opinion rather than fact.

I own and have worn one of their suits for years.
Based on the leather thickness, seams, thread type, and armor, I'd consider it a street worthy one crash suit. That opinion is based on real world experience.

Can you do better with a used suit?
If the price is right, sure.

Is a Jackets4Bikes suit a bad investment? Nope. Not for that price.
