2010 + Ducati Multistrada - what do you not like?

It's just that the computer tells them to stop at a lower RPM than with a four cylinder, that's all. Sheesh! You would think with all your years of experience you would know such things. :p

I know everything..it's not my fault, there are so many bikers, that operate at such a lower level, they can't understand what I'm sayin :laughing

...and I've found my new sig line. Thanks, Lou! :thumbup

Oh to the question of what about the MTS is there not to like? I don't like that it isn't a Panigale with street handle bars...and I don't like that there is still a ways to go on Electronic adjustable suspension....

When the suspension has the "tool" of showing travel and rate of travel, shown on the screen that GPS and other modes include...so you can evaluate your suspension both in feel and what it was doing during that feel, and then go over the same section of road with what you want to try differently..see what that looks and feels like...Then...it's a "gotta have" :thumbup

Just rode the bike home 60-miles.

That windscreen roar is unbelievable.. wow! worse than any bike i've ever ridden. I took a chance and tried riding home w/o my earplugs. Now i'm half deaf!

Otherwise, the bike is unreal! very light, super motor and the electronic suspension is really cool.:)

You are very fast on that v-strom. I can't imagine how far gone you would be on a multi.:ride

Sure, ride it anytime. Come by my house anytime and take it out for a few hours--I live near the base of highway 9, and you'd have to dodge all the squids:teeth to get to the good stuff.

/coughs politely. :laughing

Congrats, Stan. Wind noise...keep us posted as to how you address it. Pike's Peak shorty screen?

Perhaps go with an 80's style Windjammer setup. :laughing If only I had photochop skills.

You must have never ridden a KTM 990 Adventure then. It's hard to imagine that the Ducati could be worse.

Congrats on the new bike! I have a PP and am 5'10". No issues for my with the screen in the lowest position. Might be worth a look. 3,000 happy miles since April and counting...

I actually have the PP short screen in a box. I'll give that a shot. The Previous owner says short of removing the screen altogether, you'll get lot's of noise.

Stan, I'd like to take a # and take that bike for a spin. I'll be gentle, of course. :)

haha ok!

You're right, I haven't, but i'm also used to riding naked bikes, and have had a few sport tourers (old MTS as well)

I think any type of freeway riding, i'll need earplugs for sure!

I can do 90 mph on my XR650L and the wind at the helmet isn't the slightest bother. The pressure against my body is another issue, but no unusual wind noise.

I absolutely have to have good earplugs on the KTM if I'll be riding it at highway speed. Not only that, but my favorite earplugs that are rated at NRR 31 don't seem to be quite enough either - I need slightly stronger ones rated at NRR 33 to really do the job.

With good enough earplugs, I quite like the KTM and I'm sure I would absolutely love the MTS. :cool

I ride a supermoto, and the fresh wind does not bother me. I actually prefer that. The MTS design creates some sort of vortex airflow right to your helmet. I can see this issue just by flipping up my visor and the wind will make it want to slam shut.

removing the screen altogether supposedly gets rid of most of that

Congrats dude. Please let me know if the PP screen helps. Archimedes is fairly consistent with his posts that shorter is better, not the other way around. Please keep us posted 'cuz I do occasionally forget to put in my ear plugs and it sucks.

Congrats man! I would LOVE to own the new Multi S - But I always worry I would drop it due to my height.... oh well....:nchantr

I have 4 screens for mine, including a PP carbon one that just arrived. Will be riding extensively this weekend and will report back.

The CalSci shorty is my current favorite for reduced noise and the PP is shorter still.

But short screens are cold, so I have a tall VStream too, which is okay but too warm if the sun comes out. And it looks ridiculous.

I have 4 windscreens for my 950SM, and have rotated through many others on various bikes over the years.

For wind noise:
- Naked bikes are the quietest
- Sportbikes are next, with highly sloped curved short screens
- For upright bikes like the Multi you need either very short or very tall to keep the wind below your head or push it above. Everything in between that lets wind hit your helmet will be loud.
