2013 Pakistan Tour

I missed all the previous threads about this trip, including this one until now. Just stumbled upon this, and I have to say I'm both jealous and inspired.

Looks fantastic. Safe travels, you guys.

Thanks for the update and assist with pics, this thread keeps on givin'. :thumbup

Right on!!

And another one thanking Bill!!

I tend to end up regretting the photo bucket links myself as accounts close older threads lose the photos that helped make them good. So from a personal view I like the direct upload.

I am definitely shipping my XR650R now. That place has endless riding opportunity it looks like.

I don't think people realize what you're doing on the grand scale. You're changing people's perspectives and opening up eyes and minds and bringing together so many different cultures and parts of this place we all share... even if it's just for a little, your charisma and passion is making this possible. I can honestly say after seeing the pictures and updates, I honestly feel like it's a place I'd feel a little more comfortable visiting.

oh BTW... you seeing a snow leopard like it's no business is one of the most amazing things I caught amongst your photos. I remember watching the snow leopard clip on Planet Earth on Discovery Channel. It's an extremely rare animal to come across... The camera crew waited around 2-3 months just for the few minute shot they wanted (youtube it, don't want to derail thread... just youtube "snow leopard planet earth").

kinda think he was on a chain that was out of view. if it was just hanging out, lying next to a bldg with peeps around it's either sick or has been tamed.

The wild life people rescued this leopard when he was 4 months old. He was injured and stuck somewhere around an Icey Gilgit river. He was in a huge cage and the guards said he would either be sent to the zoo if he dosnt recover a 100% or if he completely recovers he would be released in the wild.

The guard told me they rescued one a few years ago and Musharef the then president gifted it to George F. Bush. Haha tsk tsk

so ... "epic" just doesn't seem to convey the awesomeness enough

Khan, please start planning 2014 so that I have time to make arrangements to go!!!

This looks like an awesome time! So glad that you guys are out there doing it.

I know you probably mean well, but this comes off as a little inappropriate to ask imo.

Good thing your opinion doesn't matter :twofinger

But seriously, maybe I should have added a few :thumbup :teeth :ride to convey my tone?

I'm sure Khan will take it for what it is, as I was very interested in making the trip in the original invite thread he posted. Besides, the whole point of this trip is to generate interest in touring Pakistan and fixing the stereotype most have of it. I'm sure any enthusiasm from me or anyone else for a future trip is appreciated.

Showing enthusiasm for the next round of something that Moin has expressed that he wants to be an annual event is inappropriate how?

yeah, was kinda under the impression Moin was already thinking about his next adventure, even mentioned it in this thread IIRC. seemed pretty appropriate to me.

+1

moin also said he didn't need to have a reason or date to do this again. He'll show up at the airport anytime someone is ready. :thumbup
