2015 Ducati Diavel Carbon - Wowzers! (Initial Review)

That rear tire is eye candy for sales reasons.. I'd highly recommend, checking with Mototireguy to see how less fat that rim will cope with, and try that narrower profile (might go higher at that time, again check with Mototireguy).

Both statements are qualifiers, not sure what you're trying to say. Being better than something shitty doesn't make it good.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's quicker up to a reasonable speed than most sportbikes. Getting to 60, pretty much any sportbike is limited in it's acceleration by wheelies. A moderate stretch and lowering will typically get the bike off the line a little faster. That's about what this is. Clearly, up top the aero starts limiting it somewhat. The weight hurts too, but if a bike is wheelie limited it shouldn't hurt too much.

That's very true statement though. LoL, I feel the same way about those shit box fwd econo cars like the gti, civic, etc. :rofl I might use one, a cheap used one to commute or go to the grocery store but I'd never spend real cash on one, especially a new one.

What ever floats your boat.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. The Multistrada is even heavier. Do you consider that a bad bike as well? For a bike with this much power, it's light and the center of gravity is very low. I don't feel the weight at all.

I've seen you around and not everyone wants to ride an orange dirt bike/adv thingy like you do. I need a bike that can take me to work one day, and the next take me touring with my wife on the back, and the next take me to Starbucks to pose.

*want*

Congrats on the bike. Don't mind the haters, there's a banjoboy for every bike thread.

cool bike, i hope it scratches your scratchy areas zuzzo.

congrats!!!!

i thought u were shopping for an inbetween bike while u wait to pick up a diaval?

sweeeeeeet ride! maybe i'll see u on the road :p

i don't think anyone actually believed that was going to happen, twas a fun thread tho

I belive Ducati have said that the Diavel is the fastest 0-60 bike they have *ever* made, due to the exact reasons you pointed out.

The April 2015 issue of Motorcyclist did a comparo of the big power cruisers; VMax, Valkyrie and the Diavel carbon. They liked the Diavel the best because it was the fastest, lightest and best handling.

Good choice. :thumbup

Congratz and welcome to the club!

Make sure you get familiar with the Diavel Owner's Forum

A lot of good information there mixed in with the usual odd characters and very opinionated riders. ;)

Damn sweet moto, yo! Pronto to the duc club...

I threw my leg over one @ Motocafe in Sunnyvale and had same thoughts about how it carries weight - very low in chassis.

Thing's gotta be a beast off the line; huge contact patch, gobs of torque; must be a hand full at WOT!

Enjoy! :ride

The TFT display is amazing on those and I've never heard a bike that sounds quite like those do. Congrats to you!

Did you look at the V-Max? How do they compare?

I didn't shop it against any other cruisers. I'm not a cruiser kind of guy. The VMax can't turn so that won't work for me. I was shopping it against some other high performance nakeds.

The Diavel handles great even with that rear tire and sounds amazing too.

Seems like the wind would be really putting a lot of pressure on you, since there's basically no windscreen ?

With that powa it would get to big speed in a hurry...
