End of the race...

Max is making waves about the FIA anti-swearing crap. Apparently he threw an impromptu press conference and only invited a few journalists, excluding the cameras and the FIA. And now he's threatening to quit F1.

IMO the FIA is going to lose this one and have to walk it all back. So dumb.

Max thinks his shit doesn't stick....unfortunately, the FIA doesn't think it stinks either, at least outwardly.
They have to deal with their own creation.

I am not a Max fan, but I agree with him on this no swearing thing (as do quite a few drivers). It is ridiculous to think a sports figure does not (or should not) swear when in the heat of the moment. Now, during an interview when tempers and/or adrenaline are not as high, then maybe.

I've always wondered what criteria was used in deciding which communications are broadcast, obviously the vast majority aren't. Sometimes it seemed like the FIA was giving the other teams fairly substantial tactical information with the communications they chose to broadcast.

I'm pretty sure all the teams have access to all the radio messages. Thats y they all use codes and often want to discuss things later.

It's funny that Yuki hasn't come up in this situation.

What I'm finding in a search is that teams can't listen in on the communications of other teams. I may be wrong, but that's what I'm finding.
If that's the case, they're only hearing what's broadcast.
I don't have the time for an in depth search.

It's all broadcast. The F1TV subscription advertises that you can listen to every individual driver's radio. Supposedly this feature has existed since 2020. And there are apps that let you multistream all the onboards with radio. Obviously since it's there, all teams have access. Reddit says they also get it from the FIA.

Teams only have access to driver-engineer radio. They don't have access to any other inter-team communications.

Bummer.

Daniel Ricciardo has been replaced at RB by Liam Lawson for the remainder of the 2024 season.

The 35-year-old Australian has been dropped with six races to go because Red Bull management have been unconvinced by his performances.

Giving Lawson the seat allows him to be assessed over the remaining races before Red Bull finalise their plans for 2025.

That's the best move for RB. They need to evaluate Liam vs Daniel vs Checo for next year. The best way to do that is put Liam in a car more. They are adding some risk for VCARB though, as their battle with HAAS is tight rn. Daniel only had 3 of their 10 points finishes. But if Liam chokes, they might be losing a spot in the Constructors.

I do wonder - does Liam need to beat Checo to challenge for that seat? How many times? VCARB scored plenty of points in the last few races last year, so the car may not be bad around those tracks. I wanna c Liam do well and replace Checo at RB.

It seems that any driver that takes the second seat at RB is under such scrutiny that it hinders their driving. RB is not shy on chewing up drivers and spitting them out. I hope Liam does well at VCARB and gets picked up by another team. Liam has done well with his "one off" drives so I think he will do well in F1.

RB such a trash organization. They told Lawson 2 weeks ago, but only told Ric Sunday after the race. At least punchable face Horner told him in person.
I can't see why anyone can be fans of RB.

It felt like Monaco, boring.

Ohh, Costco has a really cool looking R/C Car for $49.99. It is a Red Bull car and it is BIG!!!! I'm guessing it is about 26 inches in length. They are 1/10th scale.

My SIL's cousin came in third in the NASCAR race.

Hocevar's the real deal. He's placing average of 12th in his rookie season...and running with the top teams with a lesser team. If he's in Cup next year, we should meet up at Sonoma for the race.
