So ...plan was go ride some twisties. 130 mile day. Well that went to shit thanks to the rain.

Met at my bros house. 4 of us with one bagging because he partied to hard :laughing.

Soldered thru town to the bottoms of 9. All good. The Duc is pleasant in Traffic.

Headed up HWY 9 and enjoyed the flow. Solid. The thought after was solid. Bike was awesome. On rails. Not pushing but a good flow with my bro. At 236 I jumped out ahead because I wanted to feel the vibe with no interference.

Again. Thought. Solid.

Happy.

Spent time in touring mode going up 9. Felt solid as heck. I had to double check what mode I was in.

I have broken in a lot of bikes including the put 60 on it on a Friday and race it on Saturday Gixxer. It rocked.

Generally I do my best to be good to my new motor. Less time just cruising at the same speed, no lugging and the more up and down the RPM range while respecting the Italian manufacturers 6k limit the better.

107m on the clock now.

The bike made it easy to hold the RPM line. Good power down low meant smiles for miles. Zipped up to 7 out of one turn. *Tingles* :teeth

The ride - Some things I noticed.
Bars are different. More swept back and lower but I feel like I am reaching. Lower tricep got tired. Not sure what up there. Hopefully just a get in shape with the bike thing.

Noted stand up position was not fully standing. Throttle control when standing at first was sensitive. Felt better as the day went on.

The bike seems a tick taller than the ‘15.

The couple times when I got a bit sporty the bars felt awesome and as noted the bike felt like it was on rails. Not pushing at all of course. My gut says go with ithe bars and adapt. A lot of fast more capable riders developed this thing and tweaks should be minimized.

I did tighten up the front brake. I like it to work quick and remain away from my hand. Left over braking fade while racing thing. :laughing

Not as much to share as I hoped but a good day.

Came home when my socks started getting wet via my vented boots. :laughing

First thing I noticed on the V4S test ride last year was how much more "GS" the bars felt - the PP V4 is lower+narrower (feels similar to the 1260 S) which makes sense for that bike, IMHO.
If you're thinking of changing, try swapping on the V4S bars (go sit on that bike first) before risers? (though risers are an easier change probably) The V4S bars are wider / a bit higher, but they are fantastic for standing+riding, and are comfortable on my back for longer trips - I could probably get used to the PP ergos but the V4S scratched my itch from my 2014 PP of "everything awesome but just a bit more comfy".

I'm still drooling over the PP, might trade up in 2024 if they make updates& changes. Congrats Budman! Waiting to hear your opinion of the motor post-break-in on full send. :)

I shredded couple of disks in my neck years ago, since then I have been pre-occupied somewhat with ergos. Handlebar height/reach have been something I sought to perfect on my VTR, F4i, 916, and even my FJR. Add to that a minor obsession with windscreens.

After many near misses with a good setup and even buying and selling bikes etc. I landed on my BMW R1200R. Yay, all was perfect...except the wind blast was mostly a lost cause. 4 screens, and naked and well...fuck it, how about a R1200 with a fairing?
Yes, that's how I came to buy the R1250RS.

Of course the first thing I did was grab some bar risers and a aftermarket screen.

After a couple of 1000 miles, the risers came off. "Hey, not bad. It was made that way for a reason."

You're right to "just ride" the Multo Allegro, and at least for now, & not be in a hurry to try to fix it. After a few 1000 miles, you'll know what , if anything you need to adjust.

Mt. Ham , a good place to see what is what. When I was in HS we had a route from The Claremont Hotel to Alum Rock, then back.

If you had a weak link on the ride, it would probably be revealed. Of course in those days Redwood Road, Palomares , Calaveras we're deserted back roads.
