So it does appear that the doors were locked. The women were trying to escape through the little window that is up front controlled by the driver. Sad...
How did 4 of the women, and the driver get out, but the other 5 didn't? I didn't think 4 people would fit up front with the driver.
Keep something on you that can break a window.
the driver said some of the women were able to climb through the partition/window to the front and escape out the front door.
Driver doesn't need to be a hero, but smash a window for fuck's sake!

Which COULD make the fire all that more dangerous. Besides...he had a window open...the pass through window that 4 women already crawled through. Maybe the others couldn't fit![]()

Could be right 'bout fitting though.

i read somewhere most people die from smoke inhalation in fires, not from burns.
so i suspect the unlucky few at the very the back of the limo probably got the brunt of the smoke where the fire started and might have passed out.
the driver also said the it happened quickly less than 2 minutes, maybe 90 seconds before the entire back of the car went up in flames. if they panicked (likely), i can see them not thinking clearly enough to crawl out the front.
the other explanation is they just couldn't fit through the window to escape.

Geebus a screwdriver (not the wodka kind) would have saved their lives.
The video shows no broken windows with the limo only partially engulfed and no one trying to gain entry.

My sister was a parametic for some 13 years in Santa Clara. She described a crash scene to me not too long ago, where two young men were burned alive in their car. Without going into detail she says she can still hear their pleads for help and seeing movement in their vehicle in the mist of the raging fire.

When was the last time you had open bottles of alcohol and were actively drinking in a cab

Do you actually think the smoke stays localized?
It would fill the entire vehicle in the blink of an eye.
Wen your life is on the line people tend to panic and think about themselves. Can you imagine 10 people trying to fit through a small window while trying to escape a ranging fire? The heat alone is crazy.
It's easier said than done. A screwdriver can do it only by prying on the edge of the glass using the jamb as a point of leverage.
