Anime Thread *was Naruto Shippuden!*

Alright Monday morning, I hope all of you have seen this weeks lineup of BT's...

Any idea why Ichigo is so weak? And how he's even gonna be able to trump Aizen when the time comes? If you already know, don't say!

The others were "stronger" but like they said they only got an opening when they "released" and weren't THAT much stronger...

but Ichigo's powers seem to come from his "Hollow" form... I think until he is able to control that he won't be that powerful cause he's using part of his strength to suppress it...

Akira did it for me. :teeth

Me too.

In fact Akira is what got me into motorcycles.

Cowboy Bebop is what got me to start smoking.

I should stop watching anime before it kills me.

Ack.. Bleach and Naruto were both mediocre. Just kind of getting the story set up i guess... But next weeks Bleach seems like it'll be a good one :)

I think the Bleach ep was a good set up story. Interesting to see who can take on the Vasto Lordes when they come out. I think theyre also gonna develop the Vizard in the next few eps.

i've started to watch naruto again now that its gotten on arc...love Bleach haven't missed an episode,
still trying to decide if I like one peice or not...
can't see the big atraction for dragonball...

star blazers, shogun warriors (?) gundam and later robotech/ macross is what got me into anime back i nthe day...

I statrted many, many, many moons ago with speed racer, starblazers and...[dare I say it?].....kimba the white lion :blush
some early Captain Harlock too...

but the Macross/Mospeda/southern cross combination (ie 'Robotech'...geez, why did they hack those up? to make the series?) got me hooked. :teeth

I still have a VHS (bootleg) of part two for macross (takes up after the jump to pluto) and if you slow to frame by frame in the last big battle scene, some of the missles are beer cans....how geeky am I? :nerd

Ghost in the shell (movie) got me hooked to watch 'ghost in the shell: stand alone complex' and haven't missed episode....gotta love those tochcomas..i want one :teeth also want NEW episodes too :cry

That's a series that I really need to "catch up" on.. I really like the movies and the episodes I've watched.

i've read ahead on the manga and let me just say this...he wont be fighting Aizen for a loooooooong time. But let's just say it gets interesting from here on out.

I have a feeling theres no way hes going to avoid being a hybrid. he just plain sucks right now. in fact every time they pan into his fights I sigh just because I know hes going to lose. and if he is fighting I wish someone awesome like his father or yorichi would come in and save his ass.

I'm going to have to watch all the filler I guess to catch up on the "Hybrids" but is there really anything wrong with it if he learns to control it and use it for the good?

Hmm looks interesting what's that about?

Wikipedia sez:

"Black Lagoon (ブラックラグーン burakku ragūn) is the name of a Japanese manga and an anime TV series created by Rei Hiroe.[1] The story follows a team of mercenaries known as Lagoon Company, who smuggle goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia. Their base of operations is located in the fictional city of Roanapur in Thailand, and they transport goods in the PT boat Black Lagoon. Lagoon Company does business with various clients, but has a particularly friendly relationship with the Russian crime syndicate Hotel Moscow. The team takes on a variety of missions - which may involve violent firefights, hand-to-hand combat, and nautical battles - in various Southeast Asian locations. The members of Lagoon Company spend much of their down time at The Yellow Flag, a bar in Roanapur.

Black Lagoon premiered at the Tokyo International Anime Fair in March 2006 and began airing on 8 April 2006 in Japan, the series airing its final episode on 24 June that year.[2] The second season (called Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage), started airing in Japan on the 2 October 2006 and ended on December 18, 2006.[3] It has been licensed for release in North America by Geneon Entertainment with a release date of May 22, 2007."

TCK!: Glad to see you're sticking with Monster. It's mainly plot so stick with it. What episode are you on?

I remember you mentioning samurai related shows. I just finished a series out on DVD called "Peacemaker" and I wouldn't recommend it. It's not really that good until the last couple of episodes and the ending is unsatisfying. It may have been created to support reading the manga (like Berserk which has an agonizing cliffhanger ending).

Other than the series previously mentioned in this thread, I also started watching something called "Claymore", which I believe began airing in Japan a couple months ago. It's more of a medieval period/ demon hunter type joint.

I'm on episode 23 right now, so almost half way.. yeah it's not action but the plot is good I think...
