Converse Rob,

Glad you survived to tell the tale. It could have been a fatality if you rolled under the SUV instead. Hope you recover quickly!

Wow! Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came out for this event. One of our biggest ever. I have been involved in the newbie ride for 8 years now. And I must say that this was, by far, the best volunteer crew I have had the privilege to work with. Everyone did a fantastic job and just jumped in and provided special attention when or wherever needed. A BIG thumbs up to you all! Thanks really go out to Tim the head chef (BlueBuellfool) for coordinating with everyone to get the supplies needed for our great lunch. To Ken (MrSlug) and his fiance for helping him out. "I know it was a first for all of you, and you did a terrific job!"

It was great seeing so many new faces, and having the opportunity to help them with future motorcycling is always a privilege. Thank you. I have to say thank you also to our sponsors: Hollister Honda; ASV; and a especially to Mike from Cycle Gear San Jose. Mike has been a long time loyal participant in the newbie street AND newbie dirt rides. The guy always shows up with the best donuts, a smile on his face, and a real willingness to help out whereever he can "Thanks Mike, I really appreciate it!" If you have the opportunity please stop in to see to them.

I believe this picture pretty much sums up my experience for the day. My only regret is that is that I missed the group photo. See you all out on the roads, and ride safe!

Big Ups to Group #13!! :thumbup

Lead was great, Sweep was great.
First time for me on most of those roads and wont make it my last.
I'm bad with names, Thanks to my group member for topping off my tank on our way back up 9, thats what ridding is about :ride
Ill get you next time.

I was a little nervous about a 150+ bike turnout but it was well organized, great crowd, great sponsors. Great Job Mightslip (Mike)!:thumbup

check out http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19 for loads of more pics.

Thanks to all for organizing this. So glad that I actually made it, a bit late, but made it nonetheless.

Things learned on Sat:

1) California has curvier roads than Chicago
2) California has more trees than Chicago
3) California has more bikes represented than Chicago
4) California has more f'in weather patterns in a 30 mile stretch than any state
5a) The worst part of my bike is by far the sketchy side mirrors - Italians don't use the mirrors much anyway from what I hear (i.e. just go fast)
5b) Bring tape with you...all the time (thanks George)
6) I should get some leathers if I wanna be sexy ;-)

Thanks again,
Rhaz

Sorry I missed this one...

I will be on the look out for the next one.

The good news is I was able to get my bike fixed and she started today...ended up giving her a fresh oil change as well while I was at it....

I'll make the next one for Sure!
