Ahh, but it is not a HUMAN design.

I envision a world where not one bit of air has not been scrubbed by genetically designed plants to make the atmosphere what we want, not a drop of water in the ocean is allowed to exist without the same, not one grain of sand on the beaches not scrubbed by a sea of nanites or designed micro-organism to be the appropriate size and shape of sand grains to fabricate the perfect beach we have engineered.

Not one single aspect of existence left to occur, "naturally," including each other.

Makes for good science fiction but in reality would lead to our extinction.

You simply are not correct. The NFL, the organization that owns and orchestrates these championships recognizes my position as the correct one. If you aren't sure, you can go check the Hall of Fame in Canton and see if anyone in there is from before 1960. There is good reason the Browns get to keep those 4 weird AAFC CHampionships.

It doesn't even make any logical sense to only count Championship after only one particular merger forward, the NFL/AFL wasn't even the only merger the NFL has done. That is just cherry picking.

I guess you could argue that there were less teams in Competition before the 50's, but if you want to use that line of logic, you couldn't reasonably count any Championships before the Texans were added to fill the NFL Team roster to its current 32 teams in 2002. :dunno

I mean, I guess you could use the 32 Team Roster only measure, but I hate the idea of the Patriots being the greatest team of all time, especially since they are such a new franchise in a 100 year old League.

YaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNN....

Somebody wake me when the old timer is done blathering.

:laughing

I think you and I have different views on how much humanity knows or is likely ever to know.

It is just a natural progression of existing trends. :dunno Within the next couple of decades we will be able to draft fully inclusive virtual models of the global ecosystem and start running projections a couple centuries into the future.

We are still in the infancy of custom crafted lifeforms and nanotech, but it is the technology that will define our species after the upcoming robot revolution has settled down.

Within a few centuries, the vision I have had will more than likely be real. As Terraforming becomes more real and relevant it will unfold very urgently.

:dunno

NDT has some neat things to say on that E.

Excellent article on the subject:

usatoday.com/story/opinion/2021/03/26/tj-high-school-admissions-race-asian-parents-column/6982183002/

Asian American students in 2021 are experiencing the same type of discrimination and bigotry that Jewish American students faced a century ago. In 1922, Harvard University President Abbott Lawrence lamented to alumni and donors who complained about the number of Jewish students that he had "foreseen the peril of having too large a number of an alien race, and had tried to prevent it.”

Most of us recoil at such rhetoric today, and rightfully so. But Lawrence’s perspective on Jews a century ago is similar to how today’s elite educational administrators discuss Asian Americans. The only difference is that today they wrap their prejudice in the soothing and noble-sounding therapeutic language of diversity.

When you say “nanotech” what specifically do you mean?

Dude, I don't know, some type of micromachine, I'm talking about centuries in the future. How you want technical details on shit like that? :laughing

I get it. But when you say micro machine are you talking about actual mechanical devices, cut, shaped, molded, and assembled? Or something else?

Thread closed.

This thread a few specific posts have been under constant discussion among the moderators. We've been divided on how to take action. Suspension(s), lock the thread (check!), and a few other possible actions, etc. In the interest of BARF, we're going with locking the thread and warnings.

Using racial slurs is risky and questionable. You never know how they will be interpreted, and we'd rather not see them on BARF. In the case of this event / thread we decided to not suspend. It would be a mistake to take that as tacit approval to use them.

Onto the topic of posting behavior:
Just replying with a link or four without engaging in the discussion is doing nothing but stirring the pot. If you are unable to discuss the link you are posting, we suggest that you not post it. We understand that this doesn't always apply, we will be taking a closer look at these posts, behavior, and members. It's not difficult to look at this behavior as trolling.

Reminder of the ToS: "Members will not start a thread with the intent of continuing the topic of a thread that was closed or removed."

In this case the topic is real, relevant, and serious. We'll allow a new thread. That thread will be monitored and moderated more closely. Keep it on topic and respectful.
